Virgin Mary apparitions at Green Bay-area shrine recognized as first in U.S

i have just learned about the Virgin apparition at a place near Green Bay northwestern Wisconsin in 1859. Was the Shrine built at the site of the apparition? Was the woman Adele Brise Catholic? Any one with more information?

Excuse me if I’m being daft, but I’m still clueless as to exactly what the message was…it just seems to say “fatima-esque” didn’t anyone write anything down? Fatima had prophesy and many other things…anything here…or just “girl was praying/people got cured” seems pretty innocuous and boring to me.

If you check out the shrine’s website, the Blessed Mother’s message was that Adele Brise
was to instruct the children of the settlers and to remind the adults of her Son and to work to renew their faith. A very simple message, nothing fancy like Fatima, Garabandal,etc. She later founded a small community of women who later joined the Sisters of St.Francis in Green Bay. And in Europe, there is a devotion to Our Lady of Good Help already. While maybe some find the shrine boring, i think the simplicity of the message and the work of the seer, was one of the reasons the bishop approved it.

This prayer is from an old magazine article on the apparitions in Green Bay.
Prayer to Our Lady of Good Help
Our Lady of Good Help, Mother of Jesus, our Mother, it is with confidence in your tender mercy that we place our petitions before you as intercessor to your Divine Son. Resting our hope in the unerring ways of your Immaculate Heart to obtain for us that which will give glory to Jesus in the most Holy Trinity, we thank you. Amen

I have been to the shrine recently and it was a very powerful experience! My GF is going thru RCIA and we first heard about the shrine in one of the classes. It’s only about an hour from us and right off the highway when you’re going to Door County, which is a big vacation destination, so we made plans to stop next time we were in that neck of the woods.

As mentioned, the shrine is built on the site of the apparitions and the altar is directly on the spot where Mary appeared to Sister Adele. The entrance to the crypt is on the side of the shrine, you go down half a flight of stairs, turn left and see the most beautiful statue of Mary. Immediately, when I saw her, I was overcome w/ emotion and began to cry. The crypt only has 8 or 10 pews w/ kneelers and then there are two kneelers right at the spot of the apparitions. So if you can visualize it, the crypt is directly beneath the altar. We stayed and prayed for about 15 mins then made way for others to get in. The Shrine can hold about 350 and the crypt about 50 at most so all major events are held outside.

They have a very affordable gift shop so I picked up a bunch of prayer cards for my family, here is the Prayer to Our Lady of Good Help:

Our Lady of Good Help, Mother of GOD, Mother of Jesus, and Mother of the Church, it is with confidence in Thy tender mercy that we place out petitions before Thee as intercessor to Thy Divine Son. Resting our hope confidently in Thy Immaculate Heart to obtain for us that which will give glory to Thine only-begotten Son, we thank Thee.

O Queen of Heaven, as Thou didst ask Sister Adele to teach the children the holy catechism, so also teach us how to make the Heart of Jesus reign and triumph in us and around us, as it has reigned and triumphed in Thee. Reign over us, Dearest Queen, that we may be Thine in prosperity and in adversity, in joy and in sorrow, in health and in sickness, in life and in death. Amen.
