… before it’s covered with soot again? Or “before it looks like it did at the time of the True Church, which was in 1955”? Is there some problem with seeing the same Sistine Chapel that Pope St. Pius V saw; is that not good enough for some reason?

Yes, when it’s covered in lots of soot again. Is there a problem? I quite liked that look. It added a lot of character, I think. I shall have whatever opinion I wish on the soot state of the paintings in the Sistine Chapel, and it has nothing to do with “True Churchness” or whatever, nor does it really matter to me if it’s as Pope St. Pius V saw. It’s a glorious room regardless, but I liked the soot. Oooh… someone seems a bit cynical.
