I have a vision in my heart. There is a small church in a small European village. I open the doors/gate and there is a darkness in the church but there are some candles on some small altar. Some monks/friars are chanting Gregorian chant. I dip my fingers in the holy water and make the sign of the cross in Latin. Then I light some candles before a statues of Mary and some other saints. I say some prayers in Latin and then walk in silent veneration to the main altar with the Tabernacle. I kneel before the Body and Blood of Jesus. It is really beautiful. There is no other words in my heart but some Latin prayer. I just can’t explain it. What am I searching for? and how to get it?

One should submit things like this to their spiritual director. In your case, I’m not exactly sure of who you should submit it to since you say in your profile that you are not yet Catholic. Perhaps the pastor of the church where you are getting instructed into the Catholic Faith. But don’t have anxieties over whether you understand every detail or not or what you may fear others will think of you for disclosing this. Just thank God for this wonderful gift to you in the form of an interior vision.

I had a vision once, in college. It was of Christ, and he was on a throne, with a scepter, in front of the universe, but he was the universe. And the universe was expanding, blooming like a flower. At the four corners of His throne (the top corners of the chair and by the feet) were four angels, but the angels were also like flowers, and they were blooming and expanding, over and over, from within.

The whole universe, Christ, and the angels were like ever-blossoming flowers. The beautiful petals would grow forth and expand outward, only to be replaced by more petals from the center, blooming and blossoming, expanding over and over again, without end. It was a glimpse of the ever-expanding universe with Christ at the center. It was the most beautiful and amazing thing I ever saw.

I’m sorry I can’t help with your vision, it seems much more concrete than mine. I don’t know what mine is or why, but I don’t think I’ll ever forget it.

I believe that God communicates to us through dreams and visions. While dreams tend to be more symbolic, visions are more of a glimpse into a future event and the outcome depends on what you do to make this vision a reality.

You say that you follow the Catholic teachings but are not yet Catholic. While I am not an expert on visions, I feel that by going through the motions of kneeling in adoration before Jesus (dipping your finger into the holy water, making the sign of the cross), the vision is an affirmation of what you are doing now (going through the motions of learning the Catholic faith). In this vision, you are also walking and kneeling before Jesus and I see this as symbolic of your moving towards eventually becoming a Catholic.

For whatever reason, God has placed a strong desire in your heart to embrace the Catholic faith. The fact that you are speaking in Latin, (a language which is no longer used in the rite of the Catholic Mass) tells me you have a yearning to know the faith on a very deep level and your mention of the candles, statues of Mary and the saints also reveals a deep love for the Catholic church’s ancient and beloved rituals.

God has placed this vision in your heart. It is up to you now to walk towards this vision so you may one day experience this amazing calling from God.

Beautiful to read. Was this on Halsted St.?

This sounds like what you might find in some traditional Catholic parishes, that have the Latin Mass… (make sure they’re in communion with the Pope though :)). Maybe speak to a priest?
