Sure it has been asked a lot, but has anyone here every had some sort of direct experience of God? I am talking like visions, dreams, an experience of the Holy Spirit, etc. I would say the only big one that I have had was 4 years ago, when I opened myself up to Christ. I had this huge feeling of ecstasy and peace, one I have never experienced since. I know that these sort of experiences are not the sole focus of the Catholic spiritual life, but I am interested in hearing others experiences. So share away if you so please!

I won’t go into too much detail, as these experiences can be private and moderators don’t want them shared. I can understand, because when I have shared them people don’t believe me and think I am either crazy or lying. I remember a lot of incidences where my guardian angel interceded for me. The earliest when I was not yet four, saved from being killed by a car.

Since the moderators don’t want the experience detailed, I will just say one thing - yes, I have.

Twice, in a manner of speaking-- each (days, weeks) after the birth of a child. Not a big, amazing “Wow” like some people I know, but very quiet and profound and amazing. But usually, it’s rare for me to point a finger and say specifically that I had an experience of so-and-so, although occasionally I guess. I’ll find out someday for sure. 🙂

I was feeling quite insecure and unsure of myself and everything I was doing. I was also having a lot of pain and discomfort in the back of my neck.

One night I had a dream about Christ and I will never forget it, it was so real. I dreamt that I was in a cafeteria and there was just enough food left for me. The place was really crowded and I was getting ready to sit down and I felt a hand on the back of my neck and when I turned around it was Jesus. He said to me, I am very pleased with you and I am your friend and then He left.
That is not the only dream I believe that was inspired, but it was the most significant. I never saw Christ in my dreams before but I did once more and that too was beautiful.

My neck has not bothered me so much since.

You may live a perfectly ordinary life in the world, but your interior life is anything but ordinary. However, I wouldn’t share such experiences.

Whoops! I apologize, didn’t know we weren’t supposed to share, I can understand why, as those are quite private experiences often. How do you delete threads here? Don’t want to risk me or anyone else getting in trouble, or do I just request that this thread be closed?
