I never heard a catholic use the expression Governing Body before since I have been here. I googled it to see if it had a scriptural relevance and I got tons of JW stuff instead.
It creeps me out to hear people appeal to the authority of the men they follow when formulating arguments in an exchange like this. It’s very cultic language.
A case of ***“Selective reading” ***huh? You avoid openning your hearts to all the clear answers you have received to your questions and search for the only possible quote from which you can make ‘issue’.
You are obviously not writing in this forum to search for answers but to create division, doubt and confusion. Are you expecting to have some Catholics abandon their Catholic faith because of your posts? Have you tried going door to door?

If you do not like what is professed here, why don’t you write in non-Catholic forums instead? You would probably find more people who would agree with you anti-Marian and anti-authority position.
I believe I have wasted the last minute of my writing in attempting to give honest answers to someone who is
not truly seeking them. I believe Our Lord seriously mentioned something about *“casting pearls.” *
Before closing, if you are trying to find exception regarding the term **
“governing body” **just remember what handing over the “keys of the Kingdom” to someone, means. You are giving someone authority, jurisdiction and responsibility.
It creeps me out to hear people appeal to the authority of the men
From the beginning of time God chose *“men” *to lead his people, **Abraham, Moses, Joshua, Samuel, David,
and later, Jesus obviously wanted Peter **to lead his flock when the charged him 3 times to feed his lambs. By the way, **Paul **also exercised authority over the churches he founded.
If the ‘faith’ or church to which both of you belong does not have any authority figures… I feel concern for you. It is actually scary. You must see a lot of disunity and division.
Next time you read a post from any of the Catholic brothers and sisters who are spending their valuable time trying to give spiritual answers to your inquiries… try to read them and not only use “selective reading” looking for ‘issues’ from with to create arguments.
It’s been… different. I pray that someday, before it is too late, you both discover that you also have a Heavenly Mother.
