I was outside in the front yard putting down new mulch in my flower beds when the 2 pairs of ladies were walking down my street. Both in dresses carrying NWT bibles. JW alert!
This is the second time they have visited (that i know of) in the 6 years I have been here. The ladies smalled talked me commented on how making my yard look beautiful sequed into how God wanted the earth to be a paradise and broke out the worn out Psalm 37,29 “The righteous themselves will posses the earth and they will reside forever upon it.” One of the ladies left me a tract (the same one I used to pass out back in the day (early 90s) and no offer of a bible study or invite to the upcoming Memorial. Wonder if I’ll be marked for a ‘return visit’.
Some observations: no request for additional contact or leaving the latest Magazines something I recall doing with anybody who give my the time of day at the door. 2) one the ladies had a paperback NWT bible. I don’t ever seeing one of those. 3) they really need new material -the tract is 2 decades old!
Nothing too eventful. I always just smile and nod when they talk with my brain full of questions (are you a pioneer? when is the memorial this year? why doesn’t the Watchtower offer home mailed subscriptions anymore) but I keep quiet because I really don’t want to tip my hand at being an old JW and hence someone they have no business talking to anyways. I listen just cause I’m curious.
Thought maybe some old JWs on the board might share their experiences on being on the ‘other’ side of the door
And this is after an old Mormon ‘friend’ (she all but quit calling when I left the LDS Church and politely refused to engage in propaganda) called this morning after about a year of no contact saying she wants to visit with me since she is the new Relief Society President. No doubt wanting to bring me back into fold.
She left this message while I was worshipping Jesus Christ at Mass this morning
I have been attending daily Mass as my Lenten discipline and Satan tried to pull out all the stops today - but no avail :nunchuk: God bless everyone, especially those being baptized or received this Easter.
