I’m heading out to discern with the Discalced Carmelites in Buffalo, NY from Feb 13 - Feb 20th. I’ve been looking forward to making this trip for a long while. . . I really feel called to this Carmel. Please pray for me.

Prayer to Know Your Vocation

Lord, my God and my loving Father, You have made me to know You, to love You, to serve You, and thereby to find and to fulfill my deepest longings. I know that You are in all things, and that every path can lead me to You.

But of them all, there is one especially by which You want me to come to you. Since I will do what You want of me, I pray You, send Your Holy Spirit to me: into my mind, to show me what you want of me; into my heart, to give me the determination to do it, and to do it with all my love, with all my mind, and with all of my strength right to the end. Jesus, I trust in you. Amen.

St. Therese of Lisieux pray for us.

Holy Michael the Archangel defend us in the day of battle.
Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host,
by the Power of God,
thrust down to hell satan and all the wicked spirits,
who wander through the world for the ruin of souls.
Amen.

Remember, O most loving Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession and was left forsaken. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you I come, before you I stand, a sorrowful sinner. Despise not my words, O Mother of the Word, but in your mercy, hear and answer me.
Amen

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Praying that the Lord may grant you all necessary graces for your discernment.

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

PRAYER TO SAINT JOSEPH
TO KNOW ONE’S VOCATION

O Great Saint Joseph,
you were completely obedient
to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Obtain for me the grace to know
the state of life that God
in His providence has chosen for me.
Since my happiness on earth,
and perhaps even my final happiness in heaven,
depends on this choice,
let me not be deceived in making it.

Obtain for me the light to know God’s Will,
to carry it out faithfully,
and to choose the vocation
which will lead me to a happy eternity.
