Hey I have a friend who has recently been charged with a terrible crime and remanded in custody, he has asked for me and some others to go and see him. I don’t feel comfortable with it ,now Jesus was clear that what you do to each other you do to him ,he also said I was imprisoned and you didn’t visit me. So what do you guys think ? I don’t know what to do .I fell like I am abandoning him but at the same time I am worried what others will say ,and if he has done what he has been accused of I don’t know if I can go see him.

Thanks for reading
God bless!

Jesus still loves your friend. He/she is either falsely accused and in need of compassion or in need of guidance in the right direction to fix their life. You have been given a wonderful opportunity to do good. Visit.

maybe he needs you to visit as a witness to Jesus. Help him pray. Pray with him. If he is guilty or not is up to the court, so don’t pre-judge him. Even if he is guilty, he’ll need spiritual support.

Visiting the imprisoned is a corporal work of mercy. Go see them and be a friend; who cares what others think? If it was you in there you would want your friends to visit.

someone told me once “love the sinner, not the sin.”
There should be no shame, guilt, or unrest visiting someone in police
custody.

You call this person a friend. To me a friend is someone who is there
when they need them…good times and bad. This individual has asked
you to visit. As a friend, how can you refuse.

Prison can be a lonely place, filled with darkness, so go be a light for your friend.
