Have a question: when visiting a distant relative in a mental hospital, as Jesus tells us all to do, (visit the sick and those in prison) --to go visit the sick and infirm, if they request the smokes, a carton of cigarettes to be exact----should we bring them for them? i am confused as to what to do. what would you do? have never been posed with this questin before. thanks alot.

if you can afford it buy it for them…
also unless their doctor says no or their in the mental ward due to nicotine withdrawl then dont do it.

I wouldn’t do it just because of the simple fact that I’m against smoking. Do what feels right, if you think you would feel indifferent or bad by doing it afterwards, just don’t do it.

You need to check with the hospital to determine what the rules are about bringing presents such as cigarets to current patients. If there are no restrictions, and the patient is being otherwise properly treated, I see no reason not to bring them cigarets. Then again, I am a former smoker (again) and have never gone to jail behind a cigaret.
