Amen brother worship where you are.
How about worshiping as a pagan? Thats a false religion, just as protestantism is. They may claim faith in God and His Christ but they reject other key elements. They don’t have a valid Eucharist, the source and summit of Christian life. Why would you wish to receive a mere piece of bread, when you can receive Christ Himself?

This leads to religious indifference. Religious indifference leads to mortal sin.

parishes, the sacraments are valid and you would not need to also attend mass (See the directory for ecumenism in the US) since you have attended valid divine worship according to a Catholic RiteYou must mean the Eastern Rite Catholic Churches? The Eastern ‘Orthodox’ are not in communion with the Roman Pontiff, and attending a service (however valid) is schismatic.

Of course there is absolutely no question (and never has been) that a member of the Latin Rite who assists at liturgy in any Eastern or Oriental Churche sui juris has fulfilled any “obligation” that may attach.

But I believe brother Aramis meant exactly what he said: Eastern (and Oriental) Orthodox. And, BTW, what he says is correct: the “obligation” is also met by attending an EO/OO liturgy.

Pagan, Jew, Protestant, its still not Catholic. Rejecting to wroship God according to His will is a grave sin.

I am only supporting the teachings of the Pontiffs.

Well all believers in Jesus are not Catholic or agree with the teachings. His will is that I love Him and my neighbor :thumbsup:whoever my neighbor is.

You can not say you love Jesus when He reject what He taught. Love is not simply a nice, warm, fuzzy feeling where you agree with anything to placate another. Love without true is mere sentimentality.

I’ve judged no ones heart. Why is that the standard response when you criticise someone’s behaviour? I am simply reiterating what the Supreme Pontiffs have said. Men and women died for the faith. In my own country, St. John Ogilvie, suffered terribly for the sake of reinstating the Catholic faith and was put to death. We honour him as a martyr and a saint. Would he agree with the practice of attending protestant churches, faith communities that he suffered so much in fighting against?

Great for him and I do not know what he would agree with. Why would you even try to critize anyones behavior?

To convert them. Is it not a duty of Christian’s to bring other’s to the truth and to eternal life? Mere faith is not enough.

Stuart12, for the love of mike … let it go … it’s getting ugly. No one likes a bully.

Mere faith is not enough

… says who? You don’t know other’s FAITH and convictions.

Says the Church:

“If any one saith, that by faith alone the impious is justified; in such wise as to mean, that nothing else is required to co-operate in order to the obtaining the grace of Justification, and that it is not in any way necessary, that he be prepared and disposed by the movement of his own will; let him be anathema.” (Council of Trent on Justification, Canon 9)

Enough … I will go along and do what I know works for me. You do the same.

I hope those teachings were all ex-Cathedra. And if you really want to get into semantics, I hope you don’t eat any seafood other than fish…according to Leviticus 11:10. The rest of us will be supportive of our families and especially our spouses if they are of a different denomination than us. The Church permits mixed marriages…do you support that or do you believe that is being unequally-yoked?

Yes, I know. And whether you wish to accept it or not, liturgy in the EO and OO qualify under that very canon.

Feelings don’t come into it.

Pope Pius XI in Mortalium Animos:

“Everyone knows that John himself, the Apostle of love, who seems to reveal in his Gospel the secrets of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and who never ceased to impress on the memories of his followers the new commandment ‘Love one another,’ altogether forbade any intercourse with those who professed a mutilated and corrupt form of Christ’s teaching: ‘If any man come to you and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into the house nor say to him: God speed you’ (II John 10).”

Pope Pius IX:

They [the faithful] should totally shun their religious celebrations, their buildings, and their chairs of pestilence which they have with impunity established to transmit the sacred teachings. They should shun their writings and all contact with them. They should not have any dealings or meetings with usurping priests and apostates from the faith who dare to exercise the duties of an ecclesiastical minister without possessing a legitimate mission or any jurisdiction.” (Graves ac diuturnae)
The SSPX are not in schism as Rome has constantly stated. At least they accept the papacy and His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI. Do the Eastern Orthodox or protestants accept him? NO.
So are you saying that the words of Pius IX about the lack of any jurisdiction should be ignored?
