My Powerpoint presentation for Innovation class is on computers, thus I thought it fitting to have a short section on |_337. I knew from previous experience that researching it would turn up slightly off-color things like “53xx0r,” but I figured that since it was for school, I would just ignore it when I came across it. I actually didn’t come up with much beyond a passing reference to the aforementioned word, because I was very careful in picking which websites to check. I’m not even checking internet acronyms because most everyone knows them anyway, and some of them are off-color too. The problem is, as I’m working on the rest of the presentation, I’m probably going to be reminded of “s3xx0r” and this really weird website name listed on Google… On that level. Possibly some other things if my brain manages to recall some of what happened the last time I looked into leet… I don’t think it was any worse than this, though, whatever it was was on Wikipedia, so… It won’t work to just drop the leet section, I’ll remember things either way. I could just pick a new topic, but this is one I really liked and knew some good chunks for anyway.
I’m done with the section on leet, except for adding a picture or two I already have, (alphabet, and a dinosaur being Own3d) so I won’t be reading any more. It’s all what I’m going to remember when I’m presenting. Is it reasonable to continue? I always feel awful when I don’t know if it’s sinful to do something…
