Dear all,

I am new to this site. First of all I wish to say thank you to the Forum Master who welcomed me with a really warm, kind and thoughtful message:)

I am a young(ish) man - 35 - wishing to join an Order. Not sure still if missionary or contemplative. Still not sure which Order to consider. Vocations seem to be rare in the U.K and seemingly as a consequence communication with Orders is frustratingly slow. I am finding the path difficult to discern and don’t want to run out of breath!

Please could you pray for my vocation. I look at this discernment as being for God and His kingdom and so will do whatever He wants me to do. I just need to be certain that it will be His choice not my own and that I’ll have the fortitude to persevere no matter what may unfold. Please could you pray for me?

Thank you,

Friardchips (deeply).

Thank you for your kind response and prayer, Louise:) God bless.

**Prayer for vocation **

God of wisdom and of counsel, grant friardchips, by the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the grace to know what state in life he should choose. Help him to embrace it when known, in order that he may seek Your glory and increase it, work out his own salvation, and deserve the heavenly reward which You have promised to those who do Your holy Will. Through Christ Our Lord, Amen.

Great that you are discerning a vocation to the Lord, did you think of doing a Retreat in a
Contemplative Monastery, Cistercian etc it might at least while praying on retreat that the Lord will direct you to know as to whether you have a missionary or contemplative vocation.
May the Lord Bless you and keep you.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Hello! Awesome, thank you all!

Thank you for your lovely prayer, njlisa:)

Thank you, Celtic Maiden! Maybe this is a plan - there is an impressive looking Cistercian abbey in Leicester and also one that does English retreats at the Abbey of St. Joseph De Clairval in France - and in the quiet I might hear His voice.

Thank you, Pollylodges:)

Cheezey, I like the meditation from J of N, and will keep the homeless at heart.

Thank you, tawny!

Thank you Tita3! Appreciated! I love your quote by Padre Pio. It brings hope.

Many, many thanks for your kind response of prayers, UpUpAndAway:)

Thank you for this, JMJ_Telcontar!

I want to say also that I have prayed the prayers written on this page by those that did this and I will continue to go back to them.

Thank you all kindly and God bless.
