Good morning everyone,

I had a chat with a priest friend yesterday and he mentioned that San Diego is the 2nd worse diocese in the United States in terms of the number of vocations. We just don’t get too many here. San Diego also has one of the most populous Catholic population as well. I wondered what went wrong here? And what can be done to improve the number of vocations?

God bless!
Ben

As a former resident of San Diego, the unchecked growth took it from a nice quiet Navy town to a mess. Vocations increase when they have 24 hour Eucharistic Adoration.

I live here in San Diego and I just came here about a few months ago. My vocation to priesthood (religious) started when I was in another place, though.

Iosephus,

What order are you at in San Diego?

God bless!
Ben
I haven’t entered the seminary and started joining an order yet. But I’m planning to join the Dominicans.

God bless you too!

A Miles Christi priest from San Diego told me to check out the Poorest of the Poor Nuns in Escondido. I should check it out. Other than that, I heard San Diego was a bad diocese. However, it’s sooooo interesting that there are some really holy priests out there. It’s unbelievable.

How is it a bad Diocese?

Is that the name of their community? I found some Servants of the Poor of the Third World
but I forgot where they are in the US.Don’t know if they are the community Father mentioned.
