Hi everyone!
Does anyone know of some good organizations with volunteer opportunities? I’ve tried Googling it but I haven’t been able to find anything significant…how would I go about finding this type of work in my area?

You might need to better define volunteer. Are you talking about paid volunteer? Or are you gainfully employed and looking for an outlet for your spirit of charity?

If it’s the latter, might I suggest your looking into the Knights of Columbus?

The St. Vincent de Paul Society may be the very best thing for you. Our Lord has commanded each of us to help the poor and the needy in our neighborhoods, and the St. Vincent de Paul Society presents an excellent vehicle for the average Catholic in the pew to follow our Lord’s commandment. Ask if your parish, or any neighboring parishes, are currently affiliated with SVDP. If not, you can be the person who brings Vincentianism to your parish. You can go to the website svdpusa.org for detailed information about SVDP and what Vincentians do.

Uhh…ok.

I don’t think that is what the OP had in mind.

Thanks everyone for responding! Hehehe, the army wasn’t quite what I had in mind…but it is volunteer work too, so it counts.👍
