OTCA is never wrong. Even when she is. When are you people ever going to learn this?

I didnt make the claim - you did.

Now you tell us where in the catechism of the catholic church, as **you **claim it is, it says that the catholic church is the only church that ‘‘tolerates these people’’.

Or admit that the catechsim says no such thing and you are wrong. 👍

Because making false claims about the content of the catechism of the catholic church is tantamount to making false claims against the church itself - you are slandering the Churchs own authorative teaching in her catechism - and yet you claim to be defending the church

Dont you realise that many people wont bother actually reading the catechism and simple take information posted here, especially from an alleged catholic, on face value - when you spread false information you are** damaging **the church and it’s actual teachings.
I put you on ignore…I owe you nothing. God is my judge, not some know-it-all, obnoxious, arrogant man. Like I said earlier, you told the others how well you know your Catechism’s 900 pages, figure it out yourself.

Looks like you can dish it out, OTCA, but you can’t take it.

You were asked a yes or no question. And you said “no comment.” You just lost your troll license, I think!!!

Such an example of good manners and charity

I know the answer - it’s not there - but I want YOU to back up your claim that it is

Oh, am I on ignore like I was the last time too :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Well, you weren’t on ignore yet. I seriously DOUBT you going to Italy, and then wasting your time on the computer to correct me as you say. There really is something wrong with you. It’s almost like you need to be hell bent on insulting others. Nothing I say is wrong about my beautiful Catholic church. I am happy but you aren’t. Look to your own lost soul. I am done with you. Please take your meds.
BTW, I have been in Italy a very long time. Hope you can answer my intense, detailed questions about it.

Stating that the phenomenon of homosexuality poses challenges that can only be met with the help of a clear understanding of the place of sexuality within God’s plan for humanity, the document says: “By its very nature, human sexuality finds its proper fulfillment in the marital bond. Any sexual act that takes place outside the indissoluble and lifelong bond of marriage does not fulfill the proper ends of human sexuality. It is not directed toward the expression of marital love with an openness to new life. It is disordered in that it is not in accord with this twofold end and is thus morally wrong.”
“Because of both Original Sin and personal sin, moral disorder is all too common in our world today, among both heterosexual and homosexual persons,” the document says.
The guidelines state that while the Church teaches that homosexual acts are immoral, there is a distinction between engaging in homosexual acts and having a homosexual orientation. “While the former is always sinful, the latter is not.”
For anyone who knows, is this the Catholic stance on homosexuality?

Am I on ignore now 😛

Well, you doubt the Pope and his view on Orthodoxy so the fact you doubt me is no surprise  Do you know how bothered the Pope is that you doubt him? That’s about as bothered as I am 👍
then wasting your time on the computer to correct me as you say.
Yep, correcting you is a waste of time - but at least now you admit it.
It’s almost like you need to be hell bent on insulting others.
As you were advised by another poster on another thread - step away from the computer and ask yourself if what you are doing here is edifying the Body of Christ.

It’s rather sad to think that the mouth you spew forth your insults and vitriole with towards other non catholics is the same mouth you receive the Body and Blood of Christ with.

Shame on you.
I am done with you.
So am I now on ignore :p:p

God is my judge, not you. At least I receive my Lord and I believe in Him. I reported you AGAIN to the mods for harrassment and lies. You have serious issues.

👍 I would love the mods to compare the content of your posts, and the responses you provoke, with mine 👍

Still not on ignore then

Do you realise how offensive comments like this are for people on medication?

It also shows a lack of understanding for people who struggle wth a mental illness who require medication to have some semblence of normaliacy in their lives.

Please refrain from using such comments in future.

(Yes I am on medication)

Well, it’s time to take this thread back and get it back on its original topic.

I have been following ELCA online communities in the past couple days, like many Lutherans, to see what comes out of this whole thing. It should be unsurprising to all that there is quite a bit of doom and gloom in Lutheran communities right now, at least among those not fully on the path to mainline liberalism.

Anyway, I ran across an essay that begins to scratch the surface of the outrage and sadness behind what’s going on in the Lutheran community right now, thought the Catholics here might enjoy reading it…

I don’t agree with his “God causes disasters like tornadoes to make a point and punish the communists” thing necessarily- at least not in this case. It’s a dangerous thing to ascribe weather occurrences as a sign of God’s intent, and raises a lot of questions over whether you are even reading the weather correctly. But the killer paragraph, I think, is this:
To state it bluntly, there is nothing Lutheran about what has happened in Minneapolis. We have witnessed 19th century cultural Protestantism gone wild — the theologoumenon that Christ and the highest expressions of aspirations of culture are in agreement. But what are at any given time the highest expressions and aspirations of culture? Do they not come across as Zeitgeist, or spirit of time? Were not Nazism and Communism two murderous manifestations of a Zeitgeist? The genocidal “choice” ideology that has slaughtered more than 50 million unborn children in America since the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade ruling in 1973 certainly falls into the same category.
Indeed, the decision has been roundly condemned in smaller Lutheran communities. I have collated some of the reactions here with links and choice quotes.

ELS:

Link - LCC and LCMS can be found at this link as well
ELS President, Rev. John A. Moldstad, said: “Ordaining practicing homosexuals and lesbians to the ministry is a serious departure from the biblical standards of morality to which Lutherans and Lutheran pastors have historically been held.”
LCMS:
Doctrinal decisions adopted already in 2001 led the LCMS, in sincere humility and love, to declare that we could no longer consider the ELCA “to be an orthodox Lutheran church body” (2001 Res 3-21A). Sadly, the decisions of this past week to ignore biblical teaching on human sexuality have reinforced that conclusion. We respect the desire to follow conscience in moral decision making, but conscience may not overrule the Word of God.
LCC (Lutheran Church of Canada for those unfamiliar):
Behind this change lurks an understanding of “freedom” which is in fact license, which flies against God’s clear word in Genesis 1 and 2 and restated by Christ in Matthew 19:3-6. Since a pastor is one who is to have a good reputation among Christians and before the world, for the church to ordain people who clearly flout the Word of God in their actions throws both the Word of God and the office of the Holy Ministry into contempt, and gives the rest of the world an excuse to continue in its sin.
WELS:

Link
“To view same-sex relationships as acceptable to God is to place cultural viewpoint and human opinions above the clear Word of God,” says Schroeder. “The Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod, along with The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, the Evangelical Lutheran Synod, and other smaller Lutheran synods, maintains and upholds the clear teaching of the Bible that homosexuality is not in keeping with God’s design and is sinful in God’s eyes.”
More commentary as I run across it.

I just made a whole thread about my son and how others are praying for him because of medication. So don’t come on here and putting me down for what I say when it is very painful to watch my own. The whole world is medicated, that’s the problem.
