I know that a Catholic Christian is supposed to use the five Non-negotiables when voting in the elections, but is there some other moral things that we should take consideration of when voting?
 
I mean like if the candidate has been in a war, should we automatically refuse to vote for him/her or something along those lines…
 
If the person was in war I do not think that should have any influence on you decision. The person made the choice to serve for his country. When I am able to vote I will be looking into my morals. There are some things that I feel that a presidential canidate needs to have. You should not let the 5 Non-negotiables have a affect on how you really feel. Only you can decide what you believe in.

Jesus said, give to Caesar what is Caesar’s. I really believe that in the world that we have created we need to make choices based on simply what we think is best for our brothers and sisters. Jesus knows your heart. We are sometimes not left with much of a choice anyway! Make it as best you can and dont let it torment you to much, its not important in the kingdom of God.

As Catholic Christians, we can not be luke warm - our Faith should definitely influence how we vote!

What… God is just someone we say “Hi” to on Sundays, but in “real life” say, “Oh, His Word doesn’t apply in the voting booth”… ?

Fence sitting is an awfully precarious place to sit when it comes to our Lord, as the winds will obey His commands, even when we won’t.
 
Leaving the top or parts of the ballot blank is also a vote.

I can not in good conscience vote for a pro-choice candidate. Yet I cast my ballot each and every election. Our duty is to vote, but that does not mean we have to choose one of the folks on the ballot.
