VOX POPULI following condemned seer

LUMEN GENTIUM affirmed that Jesus Christ is the “sole mediator” and gave the ground rules for Marian devotion, which is to be encouraged if valid and does not give scandal. LUMEN GENTIUM gave the hierarchy of subjection of the Church to Jesus Christ, and the Servant of Servants, Peter, as His Vicar. The Vicar of Vicars, so to speak, is aided by Bishops who may not generate novel teaching or disciplines, and they themselves are served by priests in their sacerdotal function. The laity is subject to the King of Kings vis a vis the Church. The Virgin Mary is herself subject to the Church as Peter and the Apostles (and their successors) have been given all power and authority given by the Eternal Father through the King of Kings. The Church binds and looses on Earth.

The King of Kings Himself was subject to the earthly authority of His parents and He obeyed them in all things. The Virgin Mary subjected herself to Bishop Zumaraga in asking his permission, through Juan Diego, to build a chapel on Tepeyac Hill. This could have potentially given scandal as this was the former site of the “mother” temple, twin to the “son” temple. The bishop refused. His understanding was broadened with the miraculous image of the pregnant Virgin, the living tabernacle. Permission was granted, and the Aztec prophecy of the restoration of the pro-life religion, only temporarily overthrown by the cannibal cult, came true. The Queen-Mother did not shake her fist and demand a chapel as reported by the condemned Dutch seer, Ida Peerdeman. The Virgin Mary is a subject as are all souls. All souls are called to cooperate in redemption, mediate, and advocate.

One may define “protestant” as a rebel who may be acting in good faith but, possessing certain graces, has severed the full flow which, if in “invincible ignorance” is forgiven; if willfully done, is subject to judgment. I don’t see how one protestant can minister to another protestant as the blind leading the blind. To willingly embrace a seer condemned by the Rock to wrangle over elevating a few titles over the Virgin’s 300+ titles is…profitable. I wish I had a piece of the pilgrimage take.

The Virgin Mary has given as the “only” means to a period of peace the solemn, public collegial consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart. Ida Peerdeman and VOX POPULI/Queenship Publishing, is at variance with this approved apparition in giving the adoption of the “Final Dogma” as the Virgin’s vehicle for her conquest of hearts. “Do whatever He says.” His will is to exalt the Immaculate Heart, and our emulation of her purity of intent brings Christ’s peace.

We are not to give scandal. Those mature souls who were eating meat sacrificed to idols were counseled to stop. The imperfect divorce of Ida Peerdeman from Mark Miravalle’s movement is a scandal. The Lord gave us His shepherds. May He bestow on us cat-herders because the Holy Father must employ this skill on AmChurch protesters who listen neither to Heaven nor Earth.

Blessed Virgin Mary, pierced with a sword of sorrow that the thoughts of all may be revealed, expose all thoughts; cleansing them in the fire of love which is your Son Jesus Christ’s Sacred Heart. AMEN**

Mary is the Mother of the Church that was proclaimed in the Second Vatican council and Lumen Gentium has a lot more to say about Mary than you write. I’m really tired of minimalist, Marian theology, the Second Vatican council did not teach a minimalist Marian theology. I don’t know about any seers. But one thing I know, it is that the Church needs more Marian devotion not less. We need it not to lose our faith and I don’t care a fig what some Jack Chick Protestants say about it.

De Maria nunquam satis.

I quote just bit from LG:

“Predestined from eternity by that decree of divine providence which determined the incarnation of the Word to be the Mother of God, the Blessed Virgin was in this earth the virgin Mother of the Redeemer, and above all others and in a singular way the generous associate and humble handmaid of the Lord. She conceived, brought forth and nourished Christ. she presented Him to the Father in the temple, and was united with Him by compassion as He died on the Cross. In this singular way she cooperated by her obedience, faith, hope and burning charity in the work of the Saviour in giving back supernatural life to souls. Wherefore she is our mother in the order of grace.
This maternity of Mary in the order of grace began with the consent which she gave in faith at the Annunciation and which she sustained without wavering beneath the cross, and lasts until The eternal fulfillment of all the elect. Taken up to heaven she did not lay aside this salvific duty, but by her constant intercession continued to bring us the gifts of eternal salvation.(15*) By her maternal charity, she cares for the brethren of her Son, who still journey on earth surrounded by dangers and cultics, until they are led into the happiness of their true home. Therefore the Blessed Virgin is invoked by the Church under the titles of Advocate, Auxiliatrix, Adjutrix, and Mediatrix.”

Is there any statement or other evidence suggesting that the visions of Ida Peedermen have been condemned? I haven’t come across anything like that, so if you have a source, that would be helpful.

Ida Peerdemann is not condemned, her bishop deemed her visions as having supernatural origin in 2002 and he allowed devotion to Our Lady of all nations much earlier so the apparitions have Church approval.

Here’s what EWTN has to say: ewtn.com/expert/expertfaqframe.asp

Here’s a link to the bishop’s decree of authenticity: ewtn.com/expert/answers/OLAN2002.pdf

Most holy Mary, Coredemptrix of the human race and Mediatrix of all graces, hear us your children who cry unto you this Christmas, obtain peace for the land where you bore your only son.
Give peace to us, your children wherever we may be.
Because you are the only truly blessed one, and you have found favor for us before God.

I don’t know if someone has adressed this but the **IMACULATE CONCEPTION ** DOES REFER TO MARY AND NOT JESUS
(as was stated in the first post)
ofcourse Jesus was immaculate but thats not what the marian dogma is about!

here look over some of these links, especially in the features
catholicplanet.com/

but look I don’t really want Mary to be declared co-redemptrix just because that is such a hard concept for most people, and then we are going to have Protestants hitting us harder for worshipping her and stuff. If we can come up with a better term, I would be for it.

That’s what I always thought. Thanks for the link!
My question to this would be, who is Ronald L. Conte, Jr. and why should we care what he thinks about the apparitions? 😉 Personally, I find the letter above from the local bishop to be more convincing. 🙂

2007-JUL-11: The Vatican’s Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith issued a declaration excommunicating all members of the Army of Mary. The Army had been under investigation for six years. Pope Benedict XVI subsequently approved the action. It was publicly announced by the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops on 2007-SEP-12. 7

The declaration stated, in part:

“Despite repeated warnings by the Bishops of Canada, including Cardinal Marc Ouellet, Archbishop of Quebec City, members of the Army of Mary earlier this year participated in ordinations forbidden by and not recognized by the Catholic Church. The actions obliged the Congregation to issue the declaration, it states, because of ‘the very grave situation’ and given there was no ‘hope of another solution’.”

“The list of those members of the Army of Mary incurring excommunication include Father Jean-Pierre Mastropietro, for having attempted to perform ordinations; those claiming to have been ordained by him as deacons and priests; other members of the movement and its associated works who have entered into schism by participating in the ordinations despite an earlier warning issued by Cardinal Ouellet on 26 March 2007, and who remain ‘determined to continue to associate with’ the movement; and ‘whoever knowingly and deliberately embraces’ the heretical teachings of the Army of Mary. The declaration states the excommunications are ‘latae sententiae’, that is they were incurred automatically.” 8

Looks pretty clear that this organization is very dangerous and should be avoided at all costs. Why do some posters seek to defend heretics?

No one here defends heretics but some here on this forum seem to think that they can exercise parallel magisterium to that of the pope and bishops in communion with him.

Devotion to Our Lady of all nations is allowed and the local bishop says that Ida Peerdemann’s apparitions have indeed supernatural origin. To say that she was a heretic is calumny.
No one is required to believe in her revelations, we can only accept them with human faith, not divine Catholic faith.

I’m not sure I understand what connection this “Army of Mary” has to Miravalle and the Vox Populi movement, or with Ida Peerdemann and Our Lady of All Nations. Could you elaborate on what the above has to do with the topic of this thread?

Good question.

The condemned French-Canadienne “seer” and foundress of the Army of Mary was declared by the condemned Dutch “seer” Ida Peerdeman to be the “reincarnation of Mary.” This link relates the sordid tale of how “The Lady of All Nations Who Once Was Mary: Coredemptrix, Mediatrix & Advocate” came to be reincarnated in the pop theology world of Steubenville and beyond after condemnation by the Vatican. Consult the Papal Nuncio for America for formal clarification.

For those keeping score, Peter trumps interim-prelate-taking-over-duties-of-bishop after bishop’s (Bomer’s) death. And since when does a Dutch bishop publish decretals in English? This is not even the text I saw that said Ida was, essentially, unbalanced; and “The Lady of All Nations” (not “The Lady of All Nations Who Once Was Mary: Coredemptrix; Mediatrix & Advocate”) could be venerated in this narrow way by the legalistic loophole of private though markedly non-supernatural revelation.

This link’s timeline includes a gaggle of phony seers and phony priests ordained by a phony bishop, Hnilica, himself implicated in the Vatican banking scandal (that itself reached into the dregs of Chicago politics with the involvement of the real Cardinal, Marcinkus). Will we be fooled by those diverting hearts and cash? God forbid.

Our Lady of the Rosary, in her Fatima appearances, relayed God’s request: that the Immaculate Heart of Mary be exalted throughout the world. Our Lady of the Rosary gave repeated requests at Fatima to “pray the daily Rosary for peace.” Our Lady of the Rosary gave the solemn, public, simultaneous, episcopal consecration of Russia, with her promise to then convert Russia, as the “only” means to a period of peace. When Our Lady asks for offerings of spiritual bread to unite the Church, will we give her a hearts of stone? God forbid.

Russia has, in the dead of winter 2008-2009, cut off natural gas supplies to the heavily Catholic Ukraine, “spreading her errors” leading to the “annihilation of nations” once again as Our Lady of the Rosary predicted. The Ukraine bore the brunt of satanic Russia’s first foray into genocide in starving out the kulaks by seizing their farm produce for the revolution. The Ukraine as breadbasket to Russia may now simply be purchased by the billionaires freezing her to death. God forbid.

Again, my question would be: Who is Rick Salbato (the author of this newsletter article) and why does what he has to say matter? Is this a reliable source?

Salbato talks of “anonymous friends” and bishops caving to “pressure”. It seems like a lot of conjecture and hearsay to me. It is not without precedence for an apparition to be condemned and then later approved. The reverse has never happened (to my knowledge).

So far I haven’t seen any evidence that Peerdeman believed anyone to be the “Incarnation of Mary,” nor evidence that the apparitions of Our Lady of All Nations have been condemned. In light of this, the whole premise of the thread (that the Vox Populi movement follows a condemned seer) is false and borderline calumny.

*The Vatican ban stands, rewritten history notwithstanding. NOTE: Father Paul Maria Sigl is the non-priest “ordained” by the non-bishop, Hnilica, engineer of this lucrative travesty. *Our Lady of All Nations
On 31 May 2002 Bishop Jozef Marianus Punt of Haarlem, having concluded a period of investigation, declared the apparitions accorded Ida Peerdeman of Amsterdam, Holland, in which the Blessed Virgin Mary asked to be known as Our Lady of All Nations, to be “of a supernatural origin”.
Decree of 31 May 2002 (Requires Adobe Acrobat Reader)
This decree ends a 45 year period of investigation and decision, as reflected in the following history: 7 May 1956 - Bishop of Haarlem finds no evidence of the supernatural nature of the apparitions, and prohibits public veneration.
2 March 1957 - Bishop of Haarlem confirms this decision with consent of the Holy Office (13 March 1957).
24 May 1972 - Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, responding to a letter of 29 March from the Bishop, re-affirms its decision.
27 June 1974 - CDF affirms its earlier decision, after a deeper investigation, inviting the faithful to discontinue all forms propaganda with regard to these alleged apparitions and revelations.
31 May 1996 - The then Bishop of Haarlem, Henry Bomers, published a Notification clarifying the distinction between the title, image and prayer, on one hand, and the messages on the other. **The title, image and prayer had been approved for private veneration since the 1950s (according to this decree), and he was now granting the privilege of public veneration, as well. **The belief in the messages had been prohibited, but now was permitted according to one’s own conscience, the Church being unable to rule definitively “at the moment”. As the decree notes, he consulted with “official authorities”, without specifying who those authorities were.
3 December 1997 - The Bishop writes Letter (HB-97-403) commending the “Action of The Lady of All Nations” and the work of Fr. Paul Maria Sigl.
3 May 2002 - In a Letter of 3 May 2002, Raphael Soffner of the public affairs office of the diocese of Haarlem affirmed to EWTN that the public veneration of Our Lady of All Nations by title, image and prayer, is permitted to Catholics by decision of the Bishop of Haarlem, “with the consent of the Prefect of the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith in Rome”. Catholics may make “a personal judgment according to their conscience” regarding the messages and apparition.
31 May 2002 - Bishop Punt declares the apparitions to be of supernatural origin. The Expression "Who Once Was Mary"
In the approved prayer, the Blessed Virgin is referred to as Our Lady of All Nations “who once was Mary”. It is explained by the promoters of the devotion in the following manner:
This refers to the fact that Mary is no longer just Mary but rather The Lady, The Woman at the foot of the Cross. These words refer to her Eternal Motherhood over all of us, for she is Mother Whom Jesus gave to us from the Cross with the words: Woman behold thy Son!
I might add that the Motherhood of Mary is eternal in the sense that it was foreseen by God, along with the Incarnation of the Word, from all eternity. Similarly, the Church speaks of Mary as the Mother of God, not because she herself is eternal or Mother of the divine nature, but because He of whom she is Mother in the order of human nature is God, the Eternal Word.
Answered by Colin B. Donovan, STL

What “Vatican ban”? I have still seen no evidence of such a ban.

Perhaps it would be helpful to clarify the process of approving private revelations.

It starts with the local bishop. He’ll establish a commission of theologians, psychologists, medical doctors, etc. After the commission does it’s work, the bishop makes a declaration and can come to one of three conclusions:

    • constat de supernaturalitate - The conclusion that the apparitions are of supernatural origin
    • non constat de supernaturalitate - Neither an approval nor a condemnation. More of a “wait and see” determination (i.e. it can’t yet be determined).
    • constat de non supernaturalitate - The conclusion that the apparitions are not of a supernatural origin. The faithful are not free to pilgrimage there or distribute the message.
When the local bishop makes his determination, the Holy See (in particular, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith) can then confirm the decision of the local bishop, but does not always do so.

In any case, there always seems to be confusion whenever option #2 is used. Since it literally means that “it cannot be established to be of supernatural origin”, people often mistake this for a condemnation. It is not. That belongs to #3 (“it is established that it is not of supernatural origin”). The apparitions of Our Lady of All Nations was never in this third category. It was in the second category.

In any case, there has certainly never been a “Vatican ban” which would preclude the local Bishop Punt from approving the apparition (which, as has been pointed out numerous times, he did on May 31, 2002). If such a “ban” was permanent and ever-binding, Bishop Punt surely would not have issued his approval. And if he did, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith would have issued some type of statement letting him know that he had no authority to issue such approval and Bishop Punt would have rescinded it. As there is no evidence of any of this, I think we can safely assume that the apparitions have been approved.

Now, of course, as with any private revelation, we have no obligation to have any sort of devotion to it. But let’s not spread false information. That could be construed as calumny.

May the Good Lord preserve us from the toxic venality abounding in the world; and bring us into His abundant life here and in eternity. AMEN

Here’s an excerpt from the TIMES UK article by Simon Caldwell February 11, 2006.

In September, for instance, Dominic Sanchez Falar founded the “Mary is God Catholic Movement”, which claims that the third secret of Fátima revealed Mary’s divinity. This secret was covered up, he says, by Pope John Paul II and Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, now Pope Benedict XVI. Rantings of this kind would be risible/grab were they not gaining so much currency, particularly in the US.
Pope Benedict, for one, takes them seriously. Three years ago, while Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF), he said that private revelations posed a threat to the unity of the Church and warranted an “exemplary/your pastoral response” from the Holy See.
By that time the future Pope had already ruled against claims that Mary appeared at Garabandal, Spain; forbade Catholics to go on pilgrimage to Medjugorje, Bosnia-Herzegovina, where the Virgin Mary is also said to be appearing; warned the faithful against the apocalyptic murmurings of Vassula Ryden; and ordered Father Stefano Gobbi to stop using Our Lady Speaks to Her Beloved Priests as the title for books containing similar eschatological content.
Benedict is now already moving against private revelations in a way his predecessor did not. Two cases signal his intent. Barely a month after his election, the CDF issued two documents. One was a decree removing Father Gino Burresi from active ministry, and the other was a letter to the Filipino bishops effectively declaring as false the claims of Ida Peerdeman, a Dutch seer, that the Virgin Mary had revealed new truths about her status…

…Days later the CDF took the unusual step of overruling the decision of Bishop Joseph Maria Punt, of Haarlem in the Netherlands, to approve claims that the Virgin Mary had appeared in Amsterdam/ankles under the guise of “Lady of All Nations who once was Mary”, sounding the death knell for an international movement to redefine the Virgin as “coredemptrix, mediatrix and advocate”.

I heard of an apparition in which Mary requested something, but the visionary asked the bishop, which he refused. When the next vision came, Mary told the seer that she did the right thing by obeying her bishop. I don’t remember the details though.
My friend, this actually happens quite frequently during the events surrounding apparitions.

I know for sure it happened during the Sacred Heart apparitions to Sr. Margaret Mary Alacoque.

Mary as coredemptrix is already used by the Church, just not papally defined. That’s what Vox Populi wants. Lady of all Nations apparitions are approved by the local bishop.

“Hear and obey.” In 2006 Benedict XVI again reiterated the decades-long condemnation of Ida Peerdeman and her low-brow thuggery in having “Mary” shake her fist and demand the “Final Dogma” of three titles that do not make one coherent idea. The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith has spoken, the Rock has stood firm, the cats still refuse to be herded. Get sheeply. VOX POPULI is raising cash, not consciousness. The Vatican overruled Bishop Punt’s approval of “The Lady of All Nations” in spite of his pathetic attempt to divorce it from Ida Peerdeman. It’s over. Pray for Miravelle and this unseemly rebellion. This “scholarship” that can’t recognize a Vatican condemnation or realize that the Vatican cannot be overruled by a bishop is bogus and not worthy of judging the stuff of dogma.

Blessed Virgin Mary, pierced with a sword of sorrow that the thoughts of all may be revealed, expose all thoughts, cleansing them in the fire of love which is your Son Jesus Christ’s Sacred Heart. AMEN
