Vulgate Bible in paperback?

It’s a direct reprint of the bibles Desclee used to publish back in late the 1880s to early 1900s. I have two originals and they are beautiful! No one makes books like they used to although there are companies like Baronius Press who are trying to bring back quality printing and gilding to today’s books.

In my view, the paperback is definitely worth it if you are looking for a printed edition of the Clementine Vulgate since right now they are basically non-existent. Any printed editions that you might find are going to be older bibles that are longer being printed or reprints produced by sites like churchlatin.com. Baronius sells the English and Clementine Vulgate side by side but it’s a huge bible and costs close to $100. Well worth it if you have the money and would like to reference the English quickly.

The newer Latin bible of the church is easier to find but everyone I’ve met usually wants the Clementine Vulgate. I hope Baronius ends up printing a Clementine Vulgate bible in a new typeset but I’m going to have to keep my fingers crossed on that one. Still waiting on Scott Hahn’s study bible for the OT…

This from a reviewer on Amazon: “The quality and typography are such as to make each page a work of art in its own right…”

Sounds like a good deal to me.
