Wake up call most souls go to hell for the sins of the flesh

The consequences for our actions are reaped because of the action itself, not because of a vengeful God and most of those consequences come about here in this life.
You’re right, He is not a vengeful God and no one said He was but He is a just and merciful God and there is still purgatory which cleanses us from the consequences of our actions. That happens in the next life, not here.
God’s justice is restorative justice,
Yes but we need to cooperate with that restoration. We do need to feel sorrow for our sins, sorrow for hurting Him and our fellow man.
The word “repent,” means to have a change of heart and mind.

We’ve changed it to feel guilt and fear of being tortured in the next life.
Yes we are to repent and have change of heart but it is not a one time event. Change of heart includes a perseverance in the faith, a process of daily changing our hearts. We are to persevere in the faith to the end because there is a chance of eternal punishment if we don’t and that should produce some amount of fear that would cause us to turn to our loving God asking for His grace to help us avoid sin.
When Jesus came into my life, I experienced his love and forgiveness. His love and compassion. He did not have me experience guilt and fear of Him.
I had the same thing of experiencing his love and forgiveness but first I felt guilt for my sins and asked for that forgiveness. We do need to feel guilt when we offend or reject Him because sin wounds our relationship with God and we are the ones guilty. That then again brings us back to the importance of the Sacraments, especially the Sacrament of confession where we are to have perfect contrition for our sins. In other words a perfect sorrow and a detesting of our sins.

The sins of lust and things related to it are the hardest for me to overcome (pride is also a problem). I just feel that it’s so unnatural for me as a human being to get rid of all sexual desires at all. That would make me into a tree. Is there any extent to which sexual thoughts are not voluntary?

It’s why so many Catholics who accept everything said about Fatima, especially about most souls going to hell because of sins of the flesh, give up out of being driven to hopelessness.

Sexual desire is part of our human biology. Without it, we’d be too selfish to procreate.

That being said, as (name removed by moderator) said, it’s about controlling our desires so that they’re not controlling us.

Prayer is the key to it all.

As someone else said we are sexual beings, and it would be unnatural to not have any sexual desires at all. There is sexual desire that is in line with God’s will for our lives and there are desires that are not in line with God’s will.
The scriptures say to flee from all sexual immorality. In our society today that is difficult because there is soooo much temptation out there but some ways are definitely prayer, such as asking the Blessed Mother to help, daily Mass if possible. If it isn’t possible then making spiritual communion when feeling tempted. Also avail yourself to the sacrament of penance. All these things bring God’s grace into our lives which is the only way to truly battle any sin.

My priest usually says that a temptation isn’t the same as a sin.

Everyone has impure thoughts (sometimes random and unfortunate). The key for it not being a sin is to ignore them and forget them as soon as you recognize them.

I’ve generally always had a greater fear if hell than a desire for heaven. Its where i will probably end up anyway as heaven seems impossible.

But it’s just that heaven isn’t impossible, because Jesus Christ brings us the hope of salvation and heaven.

Jesus came to save those who have faith in him, not condemn them.

Don’t lose hope and trust in Jesus Christ alone !

C.S. Lewis touched on this in The Screwtape Letters (Letter 12): …
Wow, this passage is very convicting. So spot on (applicable to my own life, anyway) that it is scary. C.S. Lewis was an incredibly insightful and brilliant writer.

Petra above was quoting from C.S. Lewis’s The Screwtape Letters. If you are not familiar with the book, it is a compilation of letters from a senior demon to a younger one, advising him on how to lead astray a human toward Satan rather than God. The letters of course are fictional, but the work was written to portray truths about the Christian life by demonstrating the clever ways in which the devil tempts us, and how we can overcome it in Christ. It is written in a rather satirical, often humorous style.

Regarding the quote you asked about, this is the “senior demon” advising the younger that a gradual accumulation of small sins and distractions are a safer way (from his point of view obviously) to lead a human away from God than one big sin like murder.

I understand that it’s just i have no faith in myself that I will die in his friendship.
When I posted, I hadn’t yet read the rest of the thread and seen that you are struggling. Have faith in the great love and mercy of Christ, who loved you and died for you. Don’t have faith in yourself; have faith in Him. The more you (we) need his mercy, the more He longs to give it to us. God desires your salvation; remember that. ❤️ Stay close to the Sacraments; keep going back to Reconciliation regularly.

Most souls go to hell for the lust of the flesh- our lady of fatima

[snip]

Hell is not meant to scare people into believing it is a warning as a loving father would warn his son if he were to do something dangerous.
I’m sure it’s both.
In extension,

it appears most people aren’t scared by hell so warnings mean nothing to them as well…

So As Jesus said few are saved in the end.

WHY?

Because as Jesus said
