Waking up at 3am every night?

I know that demons like to mock Jesus and since 3pm is a holy hour, they are most powerful at 3am. Well although I am still a sinner like us all, I try my best to avoid sin, go to confession once a month, go to mass every Sunday, pray the rosary daily and feel very close to Jesus. Why do you think I wake up at 3am almost every night? I have a newborn who sleeps in bed with me. I put a rosary and miraculous metal underneath him when he sleeps too. Please no scientific answers.
Well, here’s an explanation that is both spiritual and scientific:

You are giving a lot of attention to the fact that you wake up at 3am, and so, that is going to distress your body and might cause you to wake up around 3am. Your body thinks it has somewhere to be/something to do around that time, so it’s going to wake you up.

Matthew 6: 25

That doesn’t make sense!
Anytime someone is having such problems their FIRST STOP SHOULD ALWAYS BE THE DOCTOR.
I really don’t understand why people immediately with no objectivity jump to the conclusion there must be demons at work!

Insomnia sometimes strikes early in the morning; I get this all the time.

Not sure what your living situation is but I kept waking up at 3 am on the dot. Couldn’t figure it out. Then one time I just happened to wake up at a few minutes before 3. That’s when I heard the news paper truck pull up outside of my house. Same time everyday. It could be somebody in your neighborhood leaving for work or coming home from work with a loud car is driving by your house at that time. I wouldn’t put too much thought into it. Just develop a strategy for getting back to sleep as fast as possible.

Trust me - enjoy the silence of the night !
Smile. Feel God’s closeness.
Close your eyes.
Give spontaneous thanks, in prayer, for little things.

One things for sure, your baby has a newly assigned guardian angel !

You have a newborn and you are ONLY waking up at 3am? Consider yourself lucky. Our newborns were up at 1am, 1:40am, 2:20am, 3:00am, and so on.

Count your blessings, a newborn baby and decent sleep!

The unbeliever skeptic materialist would answer that it is necessary to ventilate the apartment before going to bed that there was oxygen, and it is necessary not to eat for the night, then it is not necessary to wake up at 3-00😊
And for a believer, the presence of the Lord is a feast, so if you wake up at 3-00 then pray😊

I’ll tell you, although I have to go to bed early (not a party hound obviously) I LOVE waking up at 3 a.m. Coffee, quiet, prayer, Rosary, read a book, pay bills, cuddle the cat, watch the dawn come in-all before getting ready for work. It is a lovely, peaceful time for me.
But I don’t have a newborn…

It is a frequently held position that the opposite of good is evil. 3 PM is the Hour of Mercy.
Am falls in that opposite category. Whether anyone believes it’s mere superstition is not the point.
When we awaken are in a state of fear or unrest, the solution is prayer.

And I dont recommend co-sleeping. Many children have died this way.

The thing about “hours” is that they are relative to the human construction of time, including time zones, daylight savings etc. For a couple years I’d wake up every morning at 4 am but I noticed when daylight savings time kicked in, the hour would move forward or back accordingly.

I can understand wanting to pray at a certain time as a devotional practice, but attaching superstition to it and saying demons are more active at hour X or prayer is more powerful at hour X doesn’t do it for me. What if you need to work during hour X and can’t pray till hour Y? How do you square the fact that it’s hour X in Ohio but right over the state line it’s suddenly hour Y? The old Military Missals and some other old gadgets I saw gave you a wheel chart where you could find the time zone in the world where it was 3 pm or Mass time and just join your prayers to that zone - it was to help people who couldn’t necessarily pray on Sunday because maybe they were in the middle of fighting the enemy at that time.

I agree that any time one feels anxious or feels like praying is a good time to pray, and the midle of the night can be a quiet time for prayer (though maybe not so much with a newborn, or if you live in a bar area where all the drunks are on their way home at that time, which I have experienced). Just do what you feel and if you’re calling on Jesus, then demons cannot harm you whatever hour it is.

I’ve dealt with chronic insomnia for over 10+ years now. A little over a year ago I was waking up at 3 am on the dot. It was unlike anything I had experienced before. It went on for months and got so bad I had to take unpaid leave from work. To this day I still don’t know what was caused it, but I would guess it was something spiritual, although prayer did absolutely nothing. The only thing that fixed it in the end was trying different combinations of prescriptions.

Thanks for your concern but we use a dock a tot so theres no rolling over and our baby stays on his back all night. It’s safer than the bassinet actually because he can roll over in that at night.

For whatever reason, your body has become habituated to waking at 3:00 am. I wake between 3:00 and 4:00 every morning. I don’t worry about demons because they know nothing will make me stop loving God.

Babies sleep best in their own crib, on their back, alone. Reading your newborn sleeps with you is worrisome. Much more so than demons. Some doctors think it is a contributing factor in SIDS. I, myself, don’t know. I’m not a neonatologist.

Thank you JamalChristophr and all who suggested the saint Michael prayer and rosary before bed. I no longer wake up at 3am. Praise Jesus and God Bless You all

effectively! and we must remember that superstition is a sin against the Faith.
I’m really upset when I see a believer worry about this kind of problem

I am against superstition as well but this is not superstition. Many exorcists talk about it. Voodoo priests, those in the occult etc are active at this time. It is a very true and real thing.
