I have since corrected myself on that “disenfranchised” remark. I was trying to say that some people were not considered to be equal under the law by some other people. The word has come to mean: disallowing, through law or intimidation, the right to vote. But, sometimes english speakers use a word with its alternate or original meanings. And perhaps it is my fault for not making the context illuminating enough for you to figure out what I was talking about. DISENFRANCHISE means to “deprive of civil or electoral privileges”. So I was exactly correct. Gays are deprived of civil privileges. And in case you need any more hand holding through the wonder world of etymology:
c.1290, from O.Fr. franchise “freedom,” from variant stem of franc “free” (see frank). Sense narrowed 18c. to “particular legal privilege,” then “right to vote” (1790). Meaning “authorization by a company to sell its products or services” is from 1959.

Holly, this thread is 1.5 years old. AFA was satisfied with Wal-Mart’s response so they canceled the protest. No one here at CAF posted in this thread that the protest was over. But, I guess, now we have. 😉

Yes, this is a very old thread resurrected by a promoter of sexually deviant behavior who came here to yell at faithful Christians.

After news of this planned donation got out and protests started flooding them, Wal-Mart changed their mind and withdrew it. They changed their policy and will not make charitable donations to groups representing controversial social positions, such as homosexual groups.

That’s basically about it. A drive-byer who came to tell the Christians how close-minded and eee-ville they are.
