It’s arthouse cinema. Hardly anyone is going to watch it.
 
What I’m saying is that this movie does not reflect a trend in modern society. It’s just a product of a contemporary art culture which holds the notion that the most disgusting, offensive, borderline illegal “art” is somehow the most profound. And the rest of society mocks them.
 
Slowly but surely pedophilia will be normalized and supported by . . . some in . . . the LGBT community and its . . . heterosexual . . . allies. It’s been a very slow and careful process thus far, but the general public is nearly at the point where they’ll accept it. We’re already at the point where people downplay the sexualization of children in the media.

The cafeteria Catholics will find themselves engaged in an amusing hypocrisy as they continue to denounce priests preying on children (which is good) but demand tolerance towards secularist pedophiles. Perhaps such mental gymnastics will be too much for them, and they’ll abandon these ridiculous secular causes entirely and find comfort in the Church. . . .

Sigh, it feels like everyday our world devolves deeper and deeper into Sodom and Gamorrah and strays from God’s light. When will this madness end?

Pray that the world doesn’t add another P to LGBTTQQIAAP. Pray that these perverts seek the mental help they need.
 
After reading an overview of the film, I’m not exactly sure the movie is exactly a defense of pedophilia… And art reflects life. They already make “dolls”, some of which are designed to look of questionable age. If robotics advance to the point where we have androids with artificial intelligence… Well, you can bet your britches there will be a market for this sort of depravity.

I’m also not sold that “became people accept LGBT people folks will accept pedophiles”. We’re thankfully having a more progressive view of consent and are starting to realize that a difference in power dynamic can actually invalidate consent… For pedophilia to be accepted, we’ll have to back track on that.

It won’t be. There actually was a fringe movement toward accepting pedophilia in the early 1970s, but it was quickly repudiated by mainstream gay communities. There is no way the LGBTQ+ community today would support such a movement, given how much more is now understood about pedophilia.

Again, nonsense. The general public is probably more intolerant of pedophilia than ever before.

Your attack against “cafeteria Catholics” is also wrong and offensive. The fact that somebody doesn’t follow the Catholic faith in all areas of their life doesn’t mean that they are about to start advocating sexually abusing children.

I honestly don’t know where you are getting your ideas from. You seem to have a very distorted view of the world.
 
Doesn’t Germany and Austria have child porn laws?
It seems like this would clearly be child porn under American federal law.

Not necessarily: but the slippery slope is not always a fallacy.
Abortion used to be regarded with horror by pretty much everybody. Now we have entire organizations dedicated to defending the “right to choose”.
Homosexuality used to be rejected by almost all. Now we have elementary school teachers explaining to kids why “Johnny has two daddies”.
We’re being told that there are many genders, not just two.
We’re being told that a boy is really a girl because he says so: never mind that he’s ten years old.

Society can be convinced of horrible things if the convincers are clever and patient.

I didn’t think anybody still used the term “child porn” any more. Certainly it is the case that child abuse images are illegal in Germany and Austria.

Also, perhaps people should read a proper review:


No evidence that the movie is pornographic or would be illegal to watch in the US. Just because a movie is about a particular subject, it doesn’t mean the events being depicted are condoned or encouraged.

I have, and I don’t see how this movie would be illegal in the US. It is due to be screened at the New Directors/New Films 2020 festival in New York in just a few weeks, so I am guessing that the festival organizers are confident it’s not illegal. If you have information that it is illegal you should contact the NYPD/FBI.
