Your journey parallels my own in many ways; we both come from a baptist background, and I too came to a realization that I was dissatisfied with Baptist beliefs in high school.

I think you probably realize by now that changing how you look at things isn’t exactly easy. For me, the changing of my perspective to a catholic one was the hardest thing I ever did.

The road can be long and hard, but the reward is well worth it.

Welcome and congratulations on a beautiful decision. As others have said, your local parish will help you. There are classes you can take which will guide you through the sacraments with other adults. Don’t worry too much about how long it takes… faith is a lifelong journey for all of us. The most difficult thing to wait for is communion, but you can get there. You may start attending and may join a parish now, and may enroll your children when they are old enough in Catholic school or, if they will go to public schools, in faith formation classes. So you can start raising them Catholic now by saying a bedtime prayer together, saying grace and going to church. Perhaps talk to your pastor about the challenge of attending alone with three little ones…they may have some accommodations to offer.

Until you understand and know Catholic prayers such as the rosary, don’t worry about it. Just pray in your own way and you will learn over time.

If the religion classes are a financial burden, please tell the church as they will work it out.

I have somewhat clumsily managed to pray the rosary one full time
Congratulations! : D

I remember it took me so long before I learned the mysteries–i was always ending up one short 😳

I found it helpful to use an audio version (back then, a cassette!) to learn the prayers.

Welcome!!!

I don’t understand the mysteries of the rosary at all is there anything that I look up or read about how to understand them and why we think on them?
