The all seeing eye predates christainity and was a symbol of divinity. It is on the dollar bill, bascially, to tie the U.S. in with divine providence. (An alternate theme that was considered was the children of Israel in the wilderness).

Jesus elevated the cross (once the symbol for roman torture) to a symbol of Christian love. Many time pagan symbols are elevated to Christianity, such as the peacock, the pelican, the Christmas tree. Do your get my drift?

Thanks, and love all you ca posters.:harp:

The pentagram’s real use to signify the five wounds of Christ. You can actually cross yourself in the form of the pentagram (although then it wouldn’t be “crossing”). “Satanism” just steals what is rightfully Catholic and mulipulates it. It’s called “Black Mass” for a reason, and they steal the blessed host from catholic churches because those blessed closest to the Vatican are the most covented.

The pentagram or pentacle has a very long history, both before and after it’s use by Christianity

All symbols are merely images. It is the set of associations that a particular society gives to them at a particular time that give them meaning. There is no way to honestly say “this and only this is the real meaning of a particular image throughout all time and throughout all cultures.” You can only speak of its meaning relevant to a particular period in a particular culture.

As an interesting aside, the Episcopal church that we attended at one point many years ago actually has a pentacle as the centerpiece of the Tiffany rose window (church was built in the 1800s, it also has a small Confederate seal in one of the stained glass windows on the side).

For more accurate info on the symbols on US currency, I recommend the US Treasury website

The all-seeing eye in a pyramid symbol is due to the Freemason/Deist tendecies of the founding fathers. In the late 18th century the Freemasons and intellectuals were fascinated with ancient Egypt,Zoroaster, ancient, esoteric wisdom and symbols.
