Well, I sincerely appreciate it. Thanks for the encouragement. I feel awful because I really do love my wife and generally resist the temptation to seek attention. I’ve always kind of wanted to be in the spotlight and this is something I’ve always had to work on. Last night was an epic fail on my part.

The removing the ring thing is hard to explain because it’s such a stupid move on my part without any real intention of infidelity, but I get that it could lead down that path if I don’t do something about my attitude now.

Pride goes before the fall, right?
Yep, sometimes a long time before and sometimes just before. 😃

I’m not going to judge whether or not the act of taking off your ring was a sin. I will only say that doing so is definitely not something your spouse would be happy about.

How would you feel in the reverse situation? If your spouse went off to a bar and took of their ring for attention from the opposite sex?

Probably uneasy and hurt - at the very least.
This is the way I gain perspective on a situation…simply put the shoe on the other foot. I would not want my wife doing this, so in turn I would not do it. For me to do so would be hypocritical.

Their are social situations where one has to deal with the opposite sex. In these cases, everybody should be clear what’s going on…the spouse should know who the person is, all parties should know who is married and thus not available for dating, meeting should take place publicly and not privately, no mixed messages should be sent, etc.
