Money is super tight now in our house and I’m wanting to cut the cable bill. It’s $158 a month for cable and internet. To give some perspective, my electric bill was only $65 for all of Christmas! Of course I called the cable company and they could reduce my channels by half for only a $14 reduction in my bill.

We watch only about 5 real channels and don’t have use for the others. I’ve heard SlingTV can be ok, but I’ve read some bad reviews.

Anyone have some advice?
Sling TV is okay … not the best service all the time … but pretty good … just have to make sure you have the most updated Roku box … Roku 2 doesn’t work good with it. The free Roku that Sling gives you is not good enough.

We gave up TV & cable cold turkey over 20 years ago. For the last few years we have had Netflix, and will watch one episode of something each evening. Last week e.g. we got our Catholic fix watching “Call Me Francis” about the current Pope.

Not everything on cable television is garbage. What about EWTN? I don’t think it’s that hard to avoid the stuff that your mother would say belongs in a sewer.
I believe you can stream EWTN for free. But I agree, it is a good part of cable tv.
