I was doing some editing for the men sponsoring this website - until I noticed that they feature on their website a video made by “(Edited).com” (to which one is also led through (Edited).com). THAT website virulently attacks the current pope and Pope John Paul II, among other things. When I objected to “(Edited)”, they DEFENDED this schismatic link. They also challenged me to prove the charges of heresy leveled at Pope Benedict wrong.

So, I watched that particular video (made by “Brother” Michael Dimond) very carefully, pausing it and taking notes. I then sought out the books from which he quoted the pope (then Cardinal Ratzinger). I have about nine books and have searched for the quotations in about six of them and, as I suspected, every quotation was taken out of context.

I am compiling a refutation by using fuller excerpts from the quoted passages, which I will soon send to the “three monks” at (Edited).com. If they still refuse to sever their link to the Dimond website, we will know that - although the Revelations of Saint Bridget of Sweden may be accurate and edifying (if translated accurately) - the “brothers” making this work their own life work will have, by persisting in their association with the Dimond brothers, affirmed that they are schismatics who support attacks on the Church which are of the most vile variety.

I AM POSTING THIS BECAUSE I SEE THAT SOME ARE CONFUSED ABOUT THE CATHOLICITY OF (Edited).COM. I DO NOT CLAIM THEY ARE SCHISMATIC - AS YET - BUT IF THEY PERSIST IN SUPPORTING THE VILE ATTACKS ON THE CHURCH BY THE DIMOND BROTHERS, WHOSE LINK THEY PROVIDE, THEN THEY WILL CERTAINLY BE JUST AS GUILTY OF SCHISM. LET THIS POST BE A WARNING TO ALL WHO MAY BE LED TO (Edited).COM THAT, BY ASSOCIATION, THEIR “MISSION” CANNOT BE AUTHENTIC OR SUCCESSFUL UNLESS THEY RELENT AND WITHDRAW THIS SCHISMATIC ASSOCIATION AND SUBMIT THEIR “RULE” TO THE CHURCH.

When I objected to “(Edited)”, they DEFENDED this schismatic link. They also challenged me to prove the charges of heresy leveled at Pope Benedict wrong.
Though unfair, the question they ask it typical. I would tell them that Pope Benedict is actually an alien robot from the future and they need to prove you wrong first. The point is, one can not prove a negative. Since* they* are the ones making the outlandish claim. As a rule, they will not accept this burden. Here is an article on the subject.

catholic.com/thisrock/1995/9507fea1.asp

Here is an excerpt:
Sanborn believes he has found irreconcilable oppositions. “In the face of these contradictions of the Catholic faith, the Catholic must decide: Which do I believe? Vatican II or Pius IX? John Paul II or Pius XII? I cannot believe both, since they contradict each other. One must be believed and the other rejected.” …

Follow Sanborn’s logic. If Vatican II and recent popes have taught in contradiction to earlier councils and popes, we seem to have a magisterium that is at war with itself. But this cannot occur, since we know the Church is indefectible. “The only possible answer,” concludes Sanborn, "is that those popes who have promulgated these errors did not enjoy the power of the papacy. . . . .

Sanborn acknowledges, but does not really grapple with, a counter-argument. “The other proposed solution to the Vatican II problem is to say that any contradiction in the official teaching is merely apparent and not real.” He characterizes this solution as a "closing of one’s eyes to the contradictions of Vatican II. . . .
Regretfully, I doubt you will have much success. These groups tend to be almost cultish in nature and interested only in converting the faithful of the Church, not acknowledging the holes in their beliefs.

I have been in contact with those who run this website again recently and asked them to state their beliefs before I would agree to again help them with editing work. Here is the reply I received today. I am posting this so that all Catholics who do a “search” on these forums will be able to read what they believe in their own words and be forewarned of their thinking before helping with or reading these Revelations.

I am not saying that the Revelations themselves are untrue. They may, in fact, be quite true. Oxford University Press is currently publishing them as well. However, the attitudes of those attempting to create a new translation are likely to affect that translation, no matter how objectively they may work. So, please keep this in mind as well. (I have as yet to read all the available books of these revelations, so cannot say just what prophecy, if any, they contain about the Church today. However, as Catholics, we all know that even saints have sometimes misunderstood some information they experienced and that the Church teaches that the Word of God and the authority of His Church must be our main focus in faith.) I am also about to send a reply email along with an extensive rebuttal of some of the charges made against the pope by the Dimond Brothers. I also plan to post these on a blog soon (as soon as I learn how to do that!) 🙂 so that those searching the internet for responses will find it. Here, then, is the latest email I received from (Edited).com:

I hate to see St. Bridget’s name associated with these nut jobs.

St. Bridget is a great saint and her Bridigitine order is renown for their habit of service and hospitality the world over. I have stayed at their Piazza Farnese house in Rome where St. Bridget lived and died in her last days. I was just amazed at her ordered sister’s charity and kindness and have read the book about St. Bridget’s inspirational story and done her 1 year devotional prayers to Jesus. More here: brigidine.org/Brigidine/preparePage.do?lang=en

What a disgrace these men who bear her order’s name are! All monastic orders are founded on a rule of order that is always subject to the Holy See. They are in violation of their own order’s oaths of obedience. St. Bridget would never have condoned any of this disobedience and dissension.

Shame!

(Edited) Dust off your shoes and be glad you didn’t drink the kool-aid.

Wow, anyhow, I was spending a lot of time on a site:

(Edited)

The site is dedicated to Saint Bridget and has all her books posted the front page. These writings are among the most intriguing I have read. Jesus is instantly recognizable, the same exact Jesus from other writings I have read, such as Saint Faustina’s diary. I just made a search on Catholic Forums to see if there was any Saint Bridget discussion and found this.

I am a devotee of St. Bridget. She was quite a woman. Be careful though. There are some sites out there that are getting a tad extreme and associating themselves with her and I am not so sure that its all legit.

St. Bridget was a major factor in getting me very committed to the fullness of Catholic teaching. If you want to change your life do her 1 year devotional and take in the 21 amazing promises associated with the devotion.

**CAUTION:
This WILL change your life and you might lose your day job when you experience the grace of this devotion and want nothing more than to Read the Word and pray. **

Thanks so much for the info. Can you take a quick look over the site, it would be good to get an expert assessment.

(Edited)

I printed out all the books, close to a 1,000 pages, and reading it with a highlighter. Its amazing how these Private Revelations are so synchronized with each other. Saint Bridget’s writings are in perfect harmony with several other Revelations I read, some by other Saints, some that may be a little controversial. The diction, mannerism, phraseology and wording were immediately familiar.

Right now I’m absorbed in the books, would you be kind enough to post some of the prayers? I was aware of Saint Bridget, but had no idea of the wealth of writings.

God Bless

**Magnificent Promises of Christ to
Saint Bridget of Sweden: The 15 Prayers
**

**First Prayer **

Our Father - Hail Mary.

O Jesus Christ! Eternal all joy Sweetness to those who love Thee, joy surpassing and all joy and desire, Salvation and Hope of all sinners, Who hast proved that Thou hast no greater desire than to be among men, recall all the sufferings Thou hast endured from the instant of Thy conception, and especially during Thy Passion, as it was decreed and ordained from all eternity in the Divine plan.

Remember, O Lord, that during the Last Supper with Thy disciples, having washed their feet, Thou gavest them Thy Most Precious Body and Blood, and while at the same time Thou didst sweetly console them, Thou didst foretell them Thy coming Passion.

Remember the sadness and bitterness which Thou didst experience in Thy Soul as Thou Thyself bore witness saying: “My soul is sorrowful even unto death.”

Remember all the fear, anguish and pain that Thou didst suffer in Thy delicate Body before the torment of the Crucifixion, when, after having prayed three times, bathed in a sweat of blood, Thou wast betrayed by Judas, Thy disciple, arrested by the people of a nation Thou hadst chosen and elevated, accused by false witnesses, unjustly judged by three judges during the flower of Thy youth and during the solemn Paschal season.

Remember that Thou wast despoiled of Thy garments and clothed in those of derision; that Thy Face and Eyes were veiled, that Thou wast buffeted, crowned with thorns, a reed paced in Thy Hands, that Thou was crushed with blows and overwhelmed with affronts and outrages.

In memory of all these pains and sufferings which Thou didst endure before Thy Passion on the Cross, grant me before my death true contrition, a sincere and entire confession, worthy satisfaction and the remission of all my sins. Amen.

(See link above)

**Seventh Prayer **

Our Father - Hail Mary.

O Jesus! Inexhaustible Fountain of compassion, Who by a profound gesture of Love, said from the Cross: “I thirst!” suffered from the thirst for the salvation of the human race. I beg of Thee O my Savior, to inflame in our hearts the desire to tend toward perfection in all our acts; and to extinguish in us the concupiscence of the flesh and the ardor of worldly desires. Amen.

**Eighth Prayer **

Our Father - Hail Mary.

O Jesus! Sweetness of hearts, delight of the spirit, by the bitterness of the vinegar and gall which Thou didst taste on the Cross for Love of us, grant us the grace to receive worthily Thy Precious Body and Blood during our life and at the hour of our death, that they may serve as a remedy and consolation for our souls. Amen.

**Ninth Prayer **

Our Father - Hail Mary.

O Jesus! Royal virtue, joy of the mind, recall the pain Thou didst endure when, plunged in an ocean of bitterness at the approach of death, insulted, outraged by the Jews, Thou didst cry out in a loud voice that Thou was abandoned by Thy Father, saying: “My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken me?”

Through this anguish, I beg of Thee, O my Savior, not to abandon me in the terrors and pains of my death. Amen.

**Tenth Prayer **

Our Father - Hail Mary.

O Jesus! Who art the beginning and end of all things, life and virtue, remember that for our sakes Thou was plunged in an abyss of suffering from the soles of Thy Feet to the crown of Thy Head. In consideration of the enormity of Thy Wounds, teach me to keep, through pure love, Thy Commandments, whose way is wide and easy for those who love Thee. Amen.

**Eleventh Prayer **

Our Father - Hail Mary.

O Jesus! Deep abyss of mercy, I beg of Thee, in memory of Thy Wounds which penetrated to the very marrow of Thy Bones and to the depth of Thy being, to draw me, a miserable sinner, overwhelmed by my offenses, away from sin and to hide me from Thy Face justly irritated against me, hide me in Thy Wounds, until Thy anger and just indignation shall have passed away. Amen.

**Twelfth Prayer **

Our Father - Hail Mary.

O Jesus! Mirror of Truth, symbol of unity, link of Charity, remember the multitude of wounds with which Thou was covered from head to foot, torn and reddened by the spilling of Thy adorable Blood. O Great and Universal Pain which Thou didst suffer in Thy virginal Flesh for Love of us! Sweetest Jesus! What is there that Thou couldst have done for us which Thou hast not done May the fruit of Thy sufferings be renewed in my soul by the faithful remembrance of Thy Passion, and may Thy Love increase in my heart each day, until I see Thee in eternity, Thou Who art the treasury of every real good and every joy, which I beg Thee to grant me, O Sweetest Jesus, in Heaven. Amen.

**Thirteenth Prayer **

Our Father - Hail Mary.

O Jesus! Strong Lion, Immortal and Invincible King, remember the pain which Thou didst endure when all Thy strength, both moral and physical, was entirely exhausted, Thou didst bow Thy Head, saying: “It is consummated!”

Through this anguish and grief, I beg of Thee Lord Jesus, to have mercy on me at the hour of my death when my mind will be greatly troubled and my soul will be in anguish. Amen.

**Fourteenth Prayer **

Our Father - Hail Mary.

O Jesus! Only Son of the Father, Splendor and Figure of His Substance, remember the simple and humble recommendation Thou didst make of Thy Soul to Thy saying: “Father, into Thy Hands I commend Eternal Father, I commend My Spirit!” And with Thy Body all torn, and Thy Heart Broken, and the bowels of the Mercy open to redeem us, Thou didst Expire. By this Precious Death, I beg of Thee O King of Saints, comfort me and help me to resist the devil, the flesh and the world, so that being dead to the world I may live for Thee alone. I beg of Thee at the hour of my death to receive me, a pilgrim and an exile returning to Thee. Amen.

**Fifteenth Prayer **

Our Father - Hail Mary.

O Jesus! True and fruitful Vine! Remember the abundant outpouring of Blood which Thou didst so generously shed from Thy Sacred Body as juice from grapes in a wine press.

From Thy Side, pierced with a lance by a soldier, blood and water issued forth until there was not left in Thy Body a single drop, and finally like a bundle of myrrh lifted to the top of the Cross Thy delicate Flesh was destroyed, the very Substance of Thy Body withered, and the Marrow of Thy Bones dried up.

Through this bitter Passion and through the outpouring of Thy Precious Blood, I beg of Thee, O Sweet Jesus, to receive my soul when I am in my death agony. Amen.

**Conclusion **

O Sweet Jesus! Pierce my heart so that my tears of penitence and love will be my bread day and night; may I be converted entirely to Thee, may my heart be Thy perpetual habitation, may my conversation be pleasing to Thee, and may the end of my life be so praiseworthy that I may merit Heaven and there with Thy Saints, praise Thee forever. Amen.

St. Bridget’s writings are very good and sobering. She was one of the rare women in the middle ages who was highly educated and could write - a very intelligent woman and of noble birth married with many children. She talked her husband in later life to become a pious Christian and he retired from marriage to become a monk - and she founded a religious order. Her writings give wonderful insight into the tone and piousness of the Christian life in her times and are very sobering to us today when we see how utterly corrupt we are compared to Christian values and ideal then.

I think all of her writings reflect amazing spiritual insight and I believe her prophesies. Some of the videos that show up on sites related to her need to be taken with some caution since I think there are some extremists who are leaching onto her good name to over project some things. I don’t have time to review all the site videos but most appear to be apologetic oriented and most are probably fine.

Okay, I did what you asked; I looked at the site.

This site IS the (Sede link removed) site the OP was concerned about. Don’t believe me? Click this link: (Sede link removed) or just type it into your browser. You will immediately be redirected to (Sede link removed) site.

The Catholic Culture review, done in September of 2008, gives this site a “Yellow” (warning) in part because they cannot determine if the religious order has any cannonical status.

If find it rather dubious that this poster revived this months old thread just to post a link to the renamed site. I think I will keep an eye on him. KC concerns still stand.

Edit:
I did a “who is” search for both the domain names and both sites are owned by the same person and these are the only domains registered to that person. What is even more interesting is that the (Sede link removed) site was registered on the very same day that KC made his original post expressing his concerns about the site. It seems clear that this is an attempt to try to deceive people about who they are as they cannot refute KC’s concerns. Shame on them.

RPP, thanks for the doing the leg work, they must have been watching the Catholic Answers Forums closely to re-erect the site so quickly. Apparently the webmasters have similar issues to Vatican II as the SSPX people. I hope they didn’t fiddle with or modify Saint Bridget’s writings, I just printed out almost 1,000 pages. I’m going to continue reading, I ask that if anyone with familiarity with Saint Bridget would be kind enough to give the books posted on (Edited) a quick check.

CentralFLJames, thanks a million for posting the prayers.

No, the people at this website do not have similar views as the SSPX. The SSPX accept that Vatican II was a legitimate ecumenical Church council and the Popes John XXIII, Pail VI, John Paul I, John Paul II and Benedict XVI are all legitimate popes. The people that web site claim the the Second Vatican Council was not a valid council and that the Popes I just are not only not true popes but were, in fact anti-Christs (their word, not mine).

I find it very suspicious that you revived this thread. I do not think you are what you appear to be.

This site cannot be recommended, if, for not other reasons, than they are schismatic and deceitful. No authentic Catholic would behave this way. If one feels their reputation has been sullied, they defend it. An honest person does not change their name in an attempt to avoid false allegations. The fact that this group did only adds creedibility to KC’s concerns.

As for them “fiddling with” or “modifying” the documents, look at their behavior. They have behaved in an untrustworthy manner. Why would you trust them now. Pitch what you printed and find another source. Hi CentralFLJames,

If you been following this, I feel like it would be a sin to throw away such a large stack of paper. Would you be kind enough to just give a quick check to see if the Saint Bridget books appear unaltered? If what they are saying is true, the webmasters may be as crazy as bedbugs, but the documents might actually be intact. I fully understand if you have issues with this.

God Bless

Okay…ALL links to these two sites have been removed from all posts (and the title) because such links are banned topics here at CAF due to the confusion and scandal that they may cause to the faithful. No one is being cited for anything at this point, but consider this a general warning to insure that it doesn’t happen again.

Also, the post containing their e-mail response to KC has been removed because it is against Forum Rules to post the contents of 3rd party messages here without that party’s permission.

The prayers posts have been edited because they constitute an excessive copy & paste from another website which is also against the rules here at CAF. Just supply a short quote and then the link instead.

Please review this link and PM me if there are any questions.

Ordinarily I would simply pull the whole thread, but I feel the discussion has merit so long as it remains within the rules.
Carry on…

…The SSPX accept that Vatican II was a legitimate ecumenical Church council…
Can you help me with that? I thought they did not accept the council so I went to their website and in the FAQ question on Vatican II I find a long article including this quote:
Our position must be:
…we refuse …to follow the Rome of neo-Modernist and neo-Protestant tendencies which became clearly manifest during the Second Vatican Council and, after the Council, in all the reforms which issued from it. (Declaration of Archbishop Lefebvre, APPENDIX I)
Look at the full article here: sspx.org/SSPX_FAQs/q6_vaticanII.htm. I am sorry to disagree, but I don’t see anything they accept about Vatican II. They don’t even call it a Church council, they call it a “meeting of the world’s Bishops”. Would you have any links where they acknowledge it as a valid council?

I’m not bashing the SSPX and I agree wiih you that our misguided friends on that other website are way far afield from where the SSPX professes to be. I’m just trying to be accurate.
