Warning to TCers

Thank you for posting this warning, Jo. I love the Latin Mass and attend a largely Traditional parish, but it disgusts me when Catholics seem to lose sight of our roots in the Jewish faith and who denigrate the very Chosen People from whom we are spiritually descended. They seem to forget that our Savior Jesus Christ (Yeshua ha-Mashiach, in Hebrew) was born a Jewish man of Mary, a Jewish maiden, that His disciples were all Jewish, and that our very first Pope, Peter, was Jewish as well; this saddens me very deeply. Rather than attack our Jewish brethern – who have suffered as much as we have over the course of history – we should respect and reverence them.

You are correct that racist comments against anyone will not be allowed on this site, but in the context of this warning I am specifically referring to anti-Jewish comments.

I notice that you paint all traditional Catholics with the anti-semitic brush and I only happened across this thread because I am so fed up with all the lies being continuously allowed to call us “tc-ers,” “excommunicated” and that is when I noticed that the links you updated in the Traditional stickies include the one that would definitely squash the harassment, the one supposedly linking to the Remission of Excommunication announcment by Pope Benedict XVI.

Somehow when you updated that link in May 2009 you linked it instead to a completely irrelevant Papal document about bio-ethics that does not mention the excommunication issue at all.

While it is fine for you to exercise some control over some stupid bigotry that characterizes some people’s theological interpretations, I really don’t see what pleasure you get out of encouraging the absolutely disgusting harassment of all traditional catholics with the false excommunication charge by sabotaging the one link that would carry some significant authority of CAF into the discussion to squash the abuse.

I think that you are abusing your authority by showing such bigotry towards decent Catholics as to label all traditionalists with the anti-semitic brush and when I saw that you are the one who moderated that deceitful link it just makes me sick.

That bigotry and deceit is not justified by your stand against antisemitism. The people you are hurting are decent Catholics who have to see that continuous lie of excomunication being fought over in these boards and that has nothing at all to do with whatever some individuals have said about judaism, etc.

You have definitely abused us all with that bigotry of characterizing all Catholic traditional people as anti-semitic and especially by your deceitful placement of that link.

What you did with that link has nothing to do with any control of anti-semitism and it has everything to do with your own bigotry against those of us who do value the deep roots of our Church and we are not anti-semitic.
 
Two observations. First, Jo Benedict does not moderate this forum any longer. I do. Second, when this thread was created, Ms. Benedict was having problems with anti-semitic comments and I have no doubt in my mind that she was correct in her assertions.

Problems on the TC forum in the past with all of the strident language used on both sides resulted in the forum being closed. We are rapidly approaching another such juncture despite warnings on my part. We are having a spate of agenda driven posts on both sides and are beginning to sink into ad hominem attacks. Neither will be tolerated.
