I have a satellite radio that was working fine but is now not picking up a signal at all. It may be my fault, since I was rough with it in its car setup (which is not very sturdy), but I have no way of knowing. The warranty is not supposed to cover any damage that is my fault. Would it be wrong to take it back and receive a new one under the warranty?

From a purely legal standpoint, I would say that you were well within your rights to exchange it and get a new one.

You don’t know that you broke it. It is reasonably forseeable that the radio will get some handling during installation. In my personal experience, many electronics are shoddily made these days. They expect a certain percentage of returns.

Maybe you can send a letter with it explaining your concern. It will prevent any lying, and they still might replace it (if they don’t then you aren’t much worse of than if you hadn’t sent it in at all).
