Just a quick comment,
Over 2000 years, the Church has through councils, local and ecumenical, reformed herself ontologically. And she has always had from the beginning, heresies and heretics and schismatics of the day to defeat, which she has done. catholic.com/tract/the-great-heresies
A few posts back (#16) i provided a link to a talk by Scott Hahn who goes into the philosophies which triggered rebellion and have led us to the present day corruption of the West. And this disobedience is usually fuelled by stubborn minds and a lack of patience.
Unity is a continuous labor for the holy mother church.
And we must all work and pray for it.![]()
In one spot, he points out how the concept of God,s will was changed from one which makes laws for our benefit (correct) to an arbitrary one: “Abba” to…“Allah”, etc. A seemingly subtle change, but a disastrous one. Instead of being thought of as a loving Father, God was re-imaged by these pre-Reformation “thinkers” as more of a tyrant…
“Via Antiqua” replaced by “Via Moderna”.
.
Whether or not this link was noticed, who knows, but what Scott says is more (!) than worth hearing:
