I strongly recommend Blessed Anne Emmerich’s Biblical Revelations. Tells a lot about Genesis. I think, according to her writings, she does say that Adam was beside Eve.
If you read it literally, you have that dilemma. But if not, you don’t.The Douay-Rheims and the RSVCE do not mention the words “with her” after the word “husband” (Ge 3.6) pertaining the the Fall. … Also, it’s not in the text utilized by the RSV and the D-R. Was Adam beside her or elsewhere in the Garden at the time Eve was deceived?
