We can conclude his arguement is as follows:

Going to easter vigil fulfills the easter sunday obligation as a holy day of obligation, but it does not satisfy our weekly sunday requirement. Therefore we must attend mass on sunday to fulfill our weekly requirement.

This is coming from a PH.D
What?

That is nonsensical.

Its Ph.D

Coming from a Scientist known to spend late nights in Doctoral research. However, the op was not asking about Divine Mercy Sunday, Palm Sunday, or any other Sunday.
Only about Easter Sunday.

We can agree on that I am sure.

But again. What was your Doctoral topic?

I am not a ph.d
You said you have a Ph.D in Religious Studies.

There could be a language barrier here.

No one is criticising you for going to Mass more regularily. I go as often as I can. There is a great Peace in being with Jesus Christ.

I also go to Confession as often as possible because I have sin management issues 👍

Ah to be a Saint . But do you know about Divine Mercy Sunday next weekend?

No, but I am aware that I will go to mass 3 days of week.

I leave the conversation in your capable hands, Roseeurekacross.

Auf Wiedersehen.

Google Divine Mercy Sunday. If we take Communion on Divine Mercy Sunday in a state of Grace, say Confession within 7 days, trust completely in Jesus, venerate an image of the painting of Divine Mercy Jesus, and do works of Mercy, be they Spiritual or Corporal

Then Jesus Himself promised to open up His mercy and wipe away our sins and all punishment for them.

There is also a Plenary Indulgence for this Feast but it is different and Seperate to what Jesus promised to St Faustia.

Tell your friends/family/enemies. Take advantage of this great day.

It is next Sunday.
