Hb9:4 which had the golden altar of incense and the gold-covered ark of the covenant. This ARK CONTAINED the gold jar of MANNA, AARON’S STAFF that had budded, and the stone TABLETS OF THE COVENANT.
Mary the living ark would contain, in her womb, the real living Word of God, CHRIST, the real living Bread of Life, CHRIST, and the real living High Priest, CHRIST. Not just symbols as the ark made by hands contained, but the actual realities. As our Lord says in Ex25:22 THERE, ABOVE THE COVER BETWEEN THE TWO CHERUBIM THAT ARE OVER THE ARK OF THE TESTIMONY, I WILL MEET WITH YOU AND GIVE YOU ALL MY COMMANDS FOR THE ISRAELITES.
2 MCABS 2:5 And when Jeremy came thither he found an hollow cave wherein he laid the tabernacle and the ark and the altar of incense and so stopped the door 6 And some of those that followed him came to mark the way but they could not find it 7 Which when Jeremy perceived he blamed them saying As for THAT PLACE IT SHALL BE UNKNOWN UNTILL THE TIME THAT GOD GATHER HIS PEOPLE again TOGETHER AND RECEIVE THEM UNTO MERCY. 8 THEN SHALL THE LORD SHEW THEM THESE THINGS AND THE GLORY OF THE LORD SHALL APPEAR AND THE CLOUD ALSO as it was shewed under Moses and as when Solomon desired that the place might be honourably sanctified
EX 40:34 Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle 35 And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation because the cloud abode thereon and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle
LK 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God
2 SAM 6:2 And David arose and went with all the people that were with him from Baale of Judah to bring up from thence the ark of God whose name is called by the name of the LORD of hosts that dwelleth between the cherubims
LK 1:39 And Mary arose in those days and went into the hill country with haste into a city of Juda
2 SAM 6:9 And David was afraid of the LORD that day and said How shall the ark of the LORD come to me?
LK 1:30 And the angel said unto her Fear not Mary for thou hast found favour with God
2 SAM 6:9 And David was afraid of the LORD that day and said How shall the ark of the LORD come to me?
LK 1:43 And whence is this to me that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
2 SAM 6:16 And as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David Michal Saul’s daughter looked through a window and saw king David leaping and dancing before the LORD and she despised him in her heart
LK 1:44 For lo as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears the babe leaped in my womb for joy
2 SAM 6:18 And as soon as David had made an end of offering burnt offerings and peace offerings he blessed the people in the name of the LORD of hosts
LK 1:45 And blessed is she that believed for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord
2 SAM 6:11 And the ark of the LORD continued in the house of Obededom the Gittite three months: and the LORD blessed Obededom and all his household
LK 1:56 And Mary abode with her about three months and returned to her own house

Tiber swim team 73. Jn14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. (Christ) Lk1:48 For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: (Mary) for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. The Ultimate truth is CHRIST who is TRUTH.

As for me, I don’t think so. Looking at Hebrews 9 a little closer, I don’t think it’s possible unless there’s more than 2 arks.

Well, for one thing, there’s typology. The Ark of the Covenant contained three holy items: the Ten Commandments written in stone, the manna from heaven, and Aaron’s priestly staff (Exod 25:16; Heb 9:4). Mary contained Jesus: the Word of God made flesh (John 1:14), the Bread of Life (John 6:35) and the eternal High Priest (Heb. 7:17). Just as the three items contained within the Ark of the Covenant were types (foreshadows) of Jesus, so the Ark of the Covenant which contained them was a type (foreshadow) of Mary.

Yes she is, she is the Ark of the New Covenant who contained the Word of God, Christ been the Word, within her.

For another clear connection between the Ark and Mary, read Revelation 11:19 straight through 12:2 without the (manmade) chapter division. “Then God’s temple in heaven was opened, and the ark of his covenant was seen within his temple; and there were flashes of lightning, loud noises, peals of thunder, an earthquake, and heavy hail. And a great sign appeared in heaven, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars; she was with child and she cried out in pangs of birth, in anguish for delivery,” Rev. 11:19-12:2.

Well from my understanding from what I have read Mary is the new Ark of the Covenent. New testamnent = New Covenant so yea she is the ark as you have posted and she is also the first christian as she was the 1st to accept Jesus in her life.

Manna = Eucharist
Aarons staff = High Priest (Jesus)
Stone Tablets = Jesus gospels

Remember in the old testament there goal was to get to the promised land and God always talked about.

And is the new testament the new promise land is Heaven where Jesus talks about.

I can see that you are Christian and from other post from non denom they dont venerate Mary as the CC does so anyone non catholic has to acutally oppose this becuae if they didnt it would go agaisnt there teaching. And they might become Catholic 👍.

Im at work but I’ll get in to this later God Bless.

Perhaps you need to “cast off Rational Demonstration by Faith in the Savior?”

And no, I’m not anti-intellectual. Just opposed to applying the physics of Newton to the images of the Divine.

Of course Mary is the Ark. She carried the New Covenant within her–that settles it.

Well isn’t the New Testament concealed in the OT? And the OT revealed in the NT?

So yes she is the new ark.

All you who say a hearty ‘yes’ did Mary exist before she was conceived?

God knew who Mary was to be, Read about her in Genesis, and through the O.T .
Pray for the faith to be enlightened to whole Truth, it is past time! :p;)Peace, Carlan

:confused:why would she have to exist before she was conceived.

Frankly, I see it as one of the most biblical teachings around.

What did the ark of the OT carry? The word of God
Who did Mary carry? The Word.

The OT ark carried the old covenant
Mary carried the new covenant

It truly is beutiful how God connected it all.

Could you please answer the question directly?

Well, it’s not IMpossible. God says ‘BEFORE I formed you in the womb I knew you’. The use of the word ‘before’ indicates a point in time prior to our conception, so it’s not the same thing as saying ‘I knew you eternally (ie outside of time itself)’. So there seems a strong possibility that our souls (and thus in a sense we) pre-existed our bodily conception.

On another tangent - did the Meeting Tent of Moses pre-exist God? No. Yet did He not dwell there in a special way, such that Moses could not enter (see last chapter of Exodus)? Yes.

God can indeed dwell, in a unique way, in a location that post-dates Him.

was/is Mary the new ark? Nope…if any one could be properly labelled the new ark, then it would be Christ himself.

IMHO the shameless manipulation of scripture is utilized to make the claim…such as this “parallel”:

2 SAM 6:9 And David was afraid of the LORD that day and said How shall the ark of the LORD come to me?
LK 1:43 And whence is this to me that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

This sort of parallel is supposed to support the argument that Mary is the new Ark, but David’s question is one of dread and concern and Elizabeth’s question is nothing of the sort. One is positive and one is negative, but that inconvenient distinction is ignored to proclaim that since David asked how the ark can come to him and since Elizabeth asked how Mary should come to her, Mary must be the new ark. Utilizing that sort of fudging, any sort of result is possible.

So . . . OT types MUST be positive like their NT fulfillments??
**That is a preposterous claim. What about the Scriptural comparisons between Adam and Jesus? **

Rom. 5:18-19 says this about Adam and Jesus:
Consequently, just as the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men, so also the result of one act of righteousness was justification that brings life for all men. For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.

To say the New Ark is Christ himself is not accurate at all. The Ark was a vessel of the SYMBOLS of God. Mary was the vessel of GOD himself (Theotokos, proclaimed at the Council of Ephesus in 431). Mary is indeed the Ark of the New Covenant, thus making her the NT fulfillment of the OT type.
