I’m a heterosexual who does not engage in any sexual activity. Should it be assumed I do?

This entire discussion is pointless. Whatever Jesus might have felt or thought about the subject is in the past, and we have no reason to talk about it today. See ya on some other thread.
Why are you addressing your comments to me. I have made no comments at all about Jesus.

By the way if someone tells me they are heterosexual I do not assume they are having sex if they are not married.
If someone tells me they are homosexual then yes I assume they are having sex.

Jesus was not affected by original sin as we are. His desire for sexual expression was easily under the control of his will as ours would have been if we didn’t have a fallen nature. He had a normal sexuality that was under the control of his will. He could see a beautiful woman and appreciate her but not be overwhelmed by the temptation to sin, nor could he ‘fall in love’ in the sense of being out of control of his emotions.
Well said. Jesus is the only son of God, being perfect and without sin. He died so that sinners who deserve death, could live! If one cannot see this, read John 3. I think this board can be closed.

The odd thing about Catholics LIKE ME???What on earth are you going on about?Yes Mary was celibate, that certainly did not make her asexual.Nor does Christ’s celibacy make Him asexual. My contention is that catholics like YOU de-emphasise Christ’s humanity to the point of negation. He humbled Himself to become one of us while in no way relinquishing His Divinty.Believe it or not but I’m sure that he had the full range of human emotions and physical reactions-occasionally He probably had bad breath. He eliminated bodily waste just like we do,etc, etc, etc. He wasn’t partly man and partly God.He was both!He wasn’t a pretend man or part-man.Why on earth would He have been asexual?HE CHOSE CHASTITY! I think that too many people think of Christ as a Holy card Jesus-Blond,blue-eyed impeccably groomed and vaguely effeminate I’m sure He was just as gritty as your average Nazarean carpenter.
Aside from your double posting, your post does not equal truth.

It is your opinion only and nothing more.

He chose a bride. He married a bride. That bride is called the Church. His bride was the one spoken of in the bible. He, was ALWAYS the bridegroom.

He could not cheat on his Wife.

Mary was born without without the effects of original sin–she had no inclination towards sin and was sinless.

I am guessing that Mary was heterosexual being that she was betrothed to Jospeh and became his wife.

If that is the case then Mary’s heterosexuality in no way conflicted with her being virgin, chaste, sinless, and without any inclination towards sin.

That being the case can the same be said about Jesus?

Was Jesus in His humanity heterosexual?
jerry,
I would guess you don’t have a Bible. How else would you pen such nonsense.
Jesus is the son of God. he is human and divine. Get a Bible and read Lu.1:26-38
btw, Jesus loves you. He died on the cross for your sins. And mine. 🙂

I have many bibles and don’t think any thing I said was nonsense.

I think what is nonsense is people who think that it is OK to not be heterosexual while being chaste.

Jesus is the new Adam.

The scripture says that Adam observed the animals and realized that he did not have a mate.

I think one can deduce that Adam longed to have a mate.

I think that longing came from the way that God created him.

I think that Jesus in his humanity was created just as heterosexual as Adam.

Being heterosexual does not mean that one sins–it doesn’t even mean that one has sex.

It does mean that a person relates to the opposite sex the way that Adam did to Eve and Eve did to Adam.

That’s not to say that all are called to have a mate.

It is to say that everyone can recognize that that is the natural order that God created.

Okay, now on to Jesus. He did not come here to get a wife. That was not his nature. So, though he probably thought there were many beautiful women, he was not attracted to them in a sexual sense.
.
It would have been unheard of for a man of jesus’s age not to be married.I have heard the arguement that he was probably gay.
If he was a man made of flesh and blood then he would have had carnal thoughts. What would be the point of god putting his son on earth as a man but not to have normal male thoughts.

Well, we need to consider the fact that Jesus was itinerant, that is He moved from place to place with His followers, never having any permanent dwelling. Another is that while voluntary celibacy is rare (since the command of Genesis 1:28 “Be fruitful and multiply” was taken literally and seriously, and having a large family was considered a blessing), it is not unheard of: John the Baptist as far as we know were unmarried, and near contemporary evidence points out that at least a portion of the Essenes were celibate males.

Jesus recognized celibacy as a legitimate option (Matthew 19:12), especially when the intentions were honorable, very much contrary to the majority view of His day that those who practiced celibacy are considered as ‘extremists’ or ‘oddballs’, even sinners, by mainstream society.

I give up.To be charitable i will say that you have absolutely no idea of what I am saying and that you are not being deliberately obtuse.Being heterosexual does NOT mean being sexually active. I am heterosexual.Because I am not married I am CHASTE,get it???By no means can i be described as ASEXUAL,because I’m not.Do you even understand what asexuality is?🤷
I double posted by accident.sorry.
