Was it God’s will that America expand to the Pacific thereby displacing and persecuting the indigenous people who stood in the way?

Although we cannot necessarily presume to know the Mind of God, I think it is not very likely that America is God’s chosen nation.

America is just another country. If God were truly watching over it, history would have turned out much different. America may have some unique qualities, but that does not make it special in the eyes of the Most High.

I can’t believe I was taught Manifest Destiny (as the truth) by the nuns in Catholic school in the sixties.
