Was Mohammad without sin like Jesus? If not, how can Muslims claim he is greater than Jesus?

According to the Muslim understanding of ‘sin’, the answer is ‘NO’.
What is the Muslim understanding of sin? And what does the Hadith mean when it says about Mohammad, “a servant whose former and later sins have been forgiven”
On the Day of Judgment, why would Jesus (pbuh) say that he is not in a position to intercede on behalf of anyone?
Jesus didn’t say such a thing! Your Hadith says that.

“For there is one God, and there is **one mediator **between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (1 Tim 2:5)

“Consequently he is able for all time to save those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.” (Hebrews 7:25)

:tsktsk: Sorry hamba2han but I think you need to learn Arabic to realize that Muhammed indeed a sinner, read these verses from Quran:

(Quran 48:02):
That Allah may forgive thee thy faults of the past and those to follow; fulfil His favour to thee; and guide thee on the Straight Way;
لِيَغْفِرَ لَكَ اللَّهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِكَ وَمَا تَأَخَّرَ

(Quran 47:19):
"Know, therefore, that there is no god but Allah, and ask forgiveness for the fault, and for the men and women who believe: for Allah knows how ye move about and how ye dwell in your homes. "
**وَاسْتَغْفِرْ لِذَنْبِكَ

** (Quran 74:05):
And all abomination shun!
**وَالرُّجْزَ فَاهْجُرْ

** (Quran 94:02):
And removed from thee thy burden
**وَوَضَعْنَا عَنْكَ وِزْرَكَ

** (Quran 93:07):
And He found thee wandering, and He gave thee guidance.
**وَوَجَدَكَ ضَالًّا فَهَدَى

** (Quran 80:1-11):
[1] (The Prophet) frowned and turned away,[2] Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting).[3] But what could tell thee but that perchance he might grow (in spiritual understanding)?[4] Or that he might receive admonition, and the teaching might profit him?[5] As to one who regards himself as self-sufficient,[6] To him dost thou attend;[7] Though it is no blame on thee if he grow not (in spiritual understanding). [8] But as to him who came to thee striving earnestly, [9] And with fear (in his heart), [10] Of him wast thou unmindful.[11] By no means (should it be so)! For it is indeed a Message of instruction:
**عَبَسَ وَتَوَلَّى

** **And these hadithes by Muhammed himself:

** Sahih Bukhari, Volume 8, Book 75, Number 319:
I heard Allah’s Apostle saying." By Allah! I ask for forgiveness from Allah and turn to Him in repentance more than seventy times a day.
إني لأستغفر الله وأتوب إليه في اليوم أكثر من سبعين مرة ‏
(E) (A)

Sahih Muslim, *Book 035, Number 6523: *
Al-Agharr al-Muzani who was from amongst the Companions of Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) reported that Ibn 'Umar stated to him that Allah’s Messenger (may peace 'be upon him) said: O people, seek repentance from Allah. Verily, I seek repentance from Him a hundred times a day.
فإني أتوب في اليوم إليه مائة مرة ‏
(E) (A)

Sahih Muslim, Book 032, Number 6285:
A’isha reported that two persons visited Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) and both of them talked about a thing, of which I am not aware, but that annoyed him and he invoked curse upon both of them and hurled malediction, and when they went out I said: Allah’s Messenger, the good would reach everyone but it would not reach these two. He said: Why so? I said: Because you have invoked curse and hurled malediction upon both of them. He said: Don’t you know that I have made condition with my Lord saying thus: O Allah, I am a human being and that for a Muslim upon whom I invoke curse or hurl malediction make it a source of purity and reward.”
اللهم إنما أنا بشر
(E) (A) .
And so, again I ask:
On the Day of Judgment, why would Jesus (pbuh) say that he is NOT in a position to intercede on behalf of anyone?
Because simply Jesus didn’t say that, Satan and his assistance did.
On the other side, on the Judgement day, this is what will happen to Satan & his assistance:

(Revelation 16:13)
Then I saw three evil spirits that looked like frogs; they came out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

(Revelation 19:20)
But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed the miraculous signs on his behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped his image

(Revelation 20:10)
And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

The sin and mistake thing is hilarious.
So when Muhammad slained all the none believers, is that a ‘mistake’?

According to Islamic view, that is a mistake, not a sin. As explained by hamba2han:

"Mistake, as we know is not synonymous with sin. These prophets may commit mistakes, which are corrected by God, but these mistakes are not sins. Even these mistakes are in the way of righteousness."
So what Muhammad did was righteous in the eyes and minds of Muslims. Jeffrey Dahmer would fit Islam’s view of righteousness as well. But sadly, he isn’t as revered as Muhammad. Maybe he will be in another 600 years or so.

Honestly, how can people fall for this stuff? you cant invent stuff like this, its too funny

When an employee makes a mistake, is it something out of the ordinary that he would apologise to his to her boss for this mistake?

Similarly, the Prophets of God (peace be upon them all) would make repentance to their Boss for any mistakes that they may commit in the course of their work.

And in the Battle of Badr during the time of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), an army of angels were sent from heaven to help the greatly outnumbered Muslims defeat their pagan enemies.

Many of the pagan forces were indeed killed in battle by the angels.

Were these angels commiting a sin… or indeed even a mistake by killing the unbelievers?

By Muslim understanding of ‘sin’, these angels were of course sinless even when they killed the unbelievers because they were dong it on the orders of their Creator.

On the other hand, by Christian understanding of ‘sin’, this army of angels would indeed be commiting a sin.

See, thats the fundamental difference between the Qu’ran and the Bible. The Bible relies on actual events and historical facts. There are cases of parables and hyperboles in the Bible for teaching the reader morals and customs. But nothing in the Bible teaches the reader to actually believe that the Bible fell from heaven into our laps or that God sent angels to defeat Jesus’ enemies when He was crucified. Till now, i have yet to hear from the archeological world or from scholars if they have discovered evidence of angels taking part in the Battle of Badr. Perhaps Karen Armstrong can help you there?

Brother hamba2han do you really believe that superstitious story!, do you believe that God The Most High needs to send 5000 Angels to defeat the pagans!, according to the OT, one Angel can do the job.

Please hamba2han open your heart and mind, ask God The Most High to show you the true religion.
:hug1:

Islam teaches that the Prophets of God (peace be upon them all), are people selected by God Himself to deliver His message to mankind.

The Muslim belief that Prophets are sinless primarily relates to the fact that the Prophets of God delivered His message in its purest form. They did not add anything to it, on their own, and neither did they hold anything back from it.

The Qur’an says that Muhammad (pbuh) is a true Prophet of God and if he had falsely ascribed something to God, he would have been punished like no other individual.

Had he invented lies concerning Us, We would have seized him by the right hand and severed his heart’s vein; and no one from amongst you could have protected him (from Us). … (Al-Haaqqah 69: 44 - 47)

The Qur’an also tells us that to supervise the unadulterated deliverance of the message, the prophets are closely observed by God.

As for the messengers whom He has chosen, He guards them from the front and from behind to make sure that they have delivered the messages of their Lord. … (Al-Jinn 72: 27 - 28)

Besides this, Muslims also believe that because God Himself, on the basis of His all encompassing knowledge, selected these prophets for delivering His message and to become a model for their followers, therefore these prophets must have been the best of mankind living in their particular times and societies.

However, this does not mean that the prophets do not commit any mistakes because as we know, mistakes are not synonymous with sin.

These prophets may commit mistakes, which are corrected by God, but these mistakes are not sins. Even these mistakes are in the way of righteousness.
Of course Mohammed sinned. He was a killer and a paedophile.

Adam is considered a prophet in Islam. Adam willfully disobeyed Allah . Yes you guessed it, it was just a mistake.

Adam is considered a prophet in Islam. Adam willfully disobeyed Allah . Yes you guessed it, it was just a mistake.
Adam (pbuh) in a moment of weakness made a mistake when he allowed Satan to influence him into doing something that he was not supposed to do and he then asked his Creator to forgive him… and he indeed was forgiven by Allah who of course is the Most Forgiving and the Most Merciful.

Adam was after all human and humans do make mistakes.

And it really does not matter much whether we call this a mistake or a sin because Allah forgives ALL of the mistakes and the sins that his creations would commit as long as they sincerely repent to Him before they die.

Speaking of the Battle of Badr, this was in fact a pivotal point in the history of Islam because with this victory that came to the early Muslims with the help of Allah, Islam rapidly grew from then on due to many embracing the faith.

The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) left Madinah with only 317 companions in pursuit of a caravan, unprepared for war. At Badr, the Muslim army found themselves confronted with over 1000 fighters from Quraish, all with weapons, horses and fully prepared for battle.

The battle looked grim, especially since it was their first battle in Islam. The Prophet (pbuh) entered his tent, prayed and raised his hands invoking victory from Allah. He raised his hands so high that his shawl would fall off and Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) was there placing it back on his shoulders. The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) cried and prayed.

Then Allah revealed the verse:

(Remember) when your Lord inspired the angels, "Verily, I am with you, so keep firm those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who have disbelieved, so strike them over the necks, and smite over all their fingers and toes. … (Anfal 8/12)

Later on in time, Gabriel would ask the Prophet (pbuh) about those that attended the victory of Badr, “What is the position of those who attended Badr amongst you?” The Prophet (pbuh) said, “They are our best of us.” Then Gabriel said, “Likewise, the Angels that attended Badr are the best amongst the angels”.

The records of Hadith speak eloquently of the fact that the angels did appear on that day and fought on the side of the Muslims. Ibn ‘Abbas said: “While on that day a Muslim was chasing a disbeliever and he heard over him the swashing of a whip and the voice of the rider saying: ‘Go ahead Haizum’. He glanced at the polytheist who had (now) fallen down on his back. The Helper came to the Messenger of Allâh [pbuh] and related that event to him. The Prophet [pbuh] replied: ‘You have told the truth. This was the help from the third heaven.”[Sahih Muslim 2/93]

One of the Helpers captured ‘Abbas bin ‘Abdul Muttalib, who said: “O Messenger of Allâh, by Allâh this man did not capture me. I was captured by a man who was bald and had the most handsome face, and who was riding a piebald horse, I cannot see him here among the people.” The Helper interrupted: “I captured him, O Messenger of Allâh.” The Prophet [pbuh] replied: “Be quiet, Allâh the All-Mighty strengthened you with the help of a noble angel.”

Not quite as fantastic or historical as the Battle of Thermopylae. Imagine a small Greek army versus hundreds of thousands of Persian soldiers…Remember, this was at a time when neither Christianity nor Islam was yet revealed to mankind. Do you think angels or sheer courage and might from the Spartans led to them successfully weakening the Persians, even though they lost?

If i had all that “divine”… sorry, prophetical powers such as Mohammad’s to conjure warrior angels for help, all i would need is the help of one angel. St Michael, not 5000 angels who do not have identities. God’s angels are all powerful and mighty. Only one needs to defend 5000 demonic forces. You know, i’m still waiting for some fantastic evidence that angels took part in the Battle of Badr. I guess Karen Armstrong unhooked her phone huh?

So disobeying a command of God is only a mistake and not a sin??? Are you out of your mind?

Does this mean that in Islam prophets, as a result of their human nature, are considered potential sinners? Can you say that Adam sinned and was later forgiven? Was David a forgiven sinner too? Your post seems to evade the question and point underlined by inJESUS.

In no way. They (if they really did) would only be carrying out God’s commands. God is the giver of life. He has the right to give it and take it away. When God kills someone justly he does not sin, nor do his angels when they obey his commands.

Hamba, do you really think that God needs an army of angels to do this job? Is one angel not enough? Look what the Bible says

“And **the angel **of the LORD went forth, and slew a hundred and eighty-five thousand in the camp of the Assyrians; and when men arose early in the morning, behold, these were all dead bodies.”

One angel is more than enough! 🙂
