Was my confession valid?

Alright, it’s been 11 months since I last went to confession (I’m scrupulous and have been worrying about confession), and I went a couple hours ago. I also haven’t received the sacrament of communion this Easter season, so I need that, as well.

Anyway, did any of these things make my confession invalid?

• Before I finished confessing, the priest said that I could stop and that the rest would be “for these and all my sins”. (I don’t remember if I actually said it.)
• I think I may have left out circumstances that would’ve changed the nature of the sin on some, but I’m not really sure.
• I didn’t really think all that much about contrition; I just said the Act of Contrition. Did I not fulfill the requirements for sufficient contrition?
• I didn’t really meditate on the firm purpose of resolution, either.

If you have any doubts go back to the Confessional and talk to the priest. Ask him the questions you are asking here on the Forum. Remember it is Christ who is working throug the priest, the priest in the Sacrament of Confession can give you a better answer than I can.

if you intended to confess all your mortal sins and did so to the best of your ability and received absolution yes your confession is valid. what you meditated on is beside the point. don’t second guess your confession. the only time to be concerned is if you deliberately withhold a mortal sin, or lie about hat sin in confession. one of the most harmful spiritual habits is confessing the same thing over and over again trying to get it “right”. Find one reliable priest and go to him for confession all the time, and tell him of any difficulties you are having with confession. There is very little value in hashing it out with third parties.
