Was my confession valid?

Hi! For starters, I went to confession, and confessed all my mortal sins in number and after I finished confessing I tried not to think of anything else because i thought I would only remember venial sins. I didn’t know that was the wrong thing to do. but I did remember 1 thing and confessed it) was my confession valid?

Yes, your confession was valid.
 
Watch out for scrupulosity. Father Serpa keeps writing that if you made a genuine effort to confess without deliberately omitting a sin then it is a valid confession. Accept God’s forgiveness and move on without giving it a second thought. If you suddenly remember a mortal sin you forgot to confess mention it at the next confession even though it has already been forgiven. May to September is a long time to worry about this since you could have gone to ask a priest about it. 🙂
