Was my confession valid??

Hello,
I went to confession the other day and I felt good until I remembered something. The Priest did not open with the Sign of the Cross so I did not do it either before I started confessing. He absolved me and I did the Sign of the Cross then. Is this confession valid? I think it is but I wanted to just make sure. Thank you.
 
Yes, it is valid. The essentials of the sacrament are the contrite confession of sin and the words of absolution. All other prayers and devotional acts (including making the sign of the cross at the beginning), while perfecting fitting the dignity of the sacrament, are not absolutely required.
