St. Joseph died at some point before Jesus began his ministry at the Wedding at Cana, but we do not know exactly when. It has always been assumed by the Church that Joseph was fairly old when he married Mary.was his step dad there i know mary was, or did he die before jesus’s death ?

A mormon told me that John never died and that he still lives today? What do catholics believe about this? It just sounds like a load of craziness to me. How can he not die? Tradition says that John the Evangelist died of natural causes around 100 AD at a “great age” in Ephesus.

St. Joesph is the Patron Saint of a Happy Death because it is presumed that St. Joseph died with Mary and Jesus physically alive with St. Joseph at his death, probably some time before Jesus began His ministry.was his step dad there i know mary was, or did he die before jesus’s death ?
While scripture tells about Mary during Jesus’ ministry including the crucifixion, it tells us nothing more about St. Joseph after Jesus’ childhood. St. Joseph is not mentioned again in scripture after the story of Mary and Joseph finding Jesus at the Temple as a boy, but scripture does not tell us when St. Joseph died.

Church tradition says that he died some time before Jesus set out on his public ministry.
It’s commonly assumed that he was an old man, but IMO when he married Our Lady, he would have to be young and strong enough to undertake the trip to Bethlehem, and then Egypt, and to go to Jerusalem that Passover when they lost the Boy and had to search for Him. Life spans in the ancient world weren’t as long as ours are today. Most people didn’t live to a ripe old age.
