Was Saint Thomas More a priest?

I read a review of the movie “A Man for All Seasons” that stated that Thomas More was married and that Catholic priests were allowed to marry at that time…

Was More a priest? Was marriage allowed at that time?
 
Hi,

St. Thomas More was the a lawyer and for a time, the Chancellor of England. He was married twice, but was not a priest. Catholic priests did not marry at that time.
