Was St. John cleansed from original sin in the womb?

In Luke 1:15-is verses talking about John the Baptist.
“… and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit from his mother’s
womb.”
I have read some thought that at that moment that John
the Baptist was cleansed from original sin. What is the
current Catholic Church thought on this verse and what it
means.
