St. Jerome says: “As soon as the Son of God came down upon the earth He created a new family. He chose a virgin Mother, Mary, and a virgin foster-father, Joseph; also a virgin disciple, John, and a virgin apostle of the nations, Paul; so that He who was adored by angels in heaven might also have angels to serve Him on earth.”
Is this true? Was St. Paul really a virgin?

God knows.
St. Paul said that so that the revelations of God would not make him too proud, God gave him a Satan who always slapped him.
Of course, we are curious to know what Satan would be that.
Paul asked 3 times to God to be delivered from that Satan and God said: “My grace is enough for you!”, which is a moving answer.
Some say that it was a sexual problem.
I do not say anything…except that he did not like that problem and that God put him in place through Satan.

And others say that it was a physical disability such as epilepsy. After all, Moses stuttered, which is not a sin but which he felt would prevent his being an effective leader.

Didnt Joseph have children from a previous mariage?

So he had sexual intercourse, does that make him a virgin still?

(i dont know if married people who have sex are still called virgins)

What does this have to do with the price of eggs? There is no indication that St Paul ever was married.

And a simple look in a dictionary (or googling the word on the Internet) will tell you that anyone who has sex, married or not, is no longer a virgin.

That’s why it was so important, as Mary noted, that she had not ‘known a man’ in the biblical sense. Any man. Including Joseph. And it is obvious that she hadn’t or she wouldn’t have asked how it would happen.

The first post/OP says-

Happy scrambling

That is one of several pious legends regarding St Joseph. Other pious tradtions indicate he was never married.

The truth is we simply do not know whether or not he was married or had children.

Nor do we know anything about St Paul as it pertains to virginity.

That is a legend, and old and bald St. Joseph with a beautiful Virgin Mary. Old because he died soon.
But it could be much different: he could be a young and handsome man dying of some unknown causes.

St. Paul was single; either he never married or he was a widower. It was the opinion of the ancient fathers, including St. Jerome, that he never married.

To the unmarried and the widows I say that it is well for them to remain single as I do. (1 Corinthians 7:8)

With St Joseph i remembered in the bible that Jesus had other brothers and sisters
so i thought they were from Josephs previous marriage as im sure ive heard that being said somewhere before

I read that in Aramaic and in those times ‘cousins’ were also known as brothers and sisters

That is the older tradition of the Church and is believe mostly in the Eastern Catholic/Orthodox circles.

Not only in Aramaic.
In Africa is the same. I had a friend who told me he was educated by everybody in the village and not necessarily by his father and mother. His aunties and uncles exerted as much authority over him as his parents and he considered his cousins as brothers.

It is a completely different structure from the nuclear family. Remember that Mary lost Jesus on the way to Nazareth for it was assumed that anybody could take Him back.

Until recently, Men were not properly called Virgins.
'Twas a term referring to a woman.
I thought so too, but Revelation 14 mentions 144,000 male virgins. I don’t know if they use a similar word for female virgins though.
