I don’t particularly like the NAB either but it has a pretty wide readership. In fact if you go to the bibles section of a secular bookstore, more often than not the NAB will be the only Catholic bible on the shelf.I wouldn’t hold up the NAB as a good translation as you’ll have most of the forum members jumping up and down.
From 1 Corinthians 9:5, which I quoted above, and which was written about 55 A.D. I wasn’t trying to say Peter got married at this late date but that he was still married at the time Paul wrote 1 Corinthians.By the way, nobody said Peter was not married. What I said there is nothing in scripture to suggest he was still married when he followed Jesus and the verse from Paul you quoted certainly does not show that. I am intrigued though when you maintain he was married “much later as the leader of the Church”. Where does that come from?
