romans 13 is a very confusing passage to me, for a combination of reasons.Romans 13:1-7
Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.
For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God’s ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.
God establishes the powers that be. The only response of the Christian is strict obedience to whoever God chooses as ruler. Democracy is an idea foreign to Christianity and the Bible. The revolutionary war was not just.
Also, I note that the majority of the founders were freemasons and deists and that freemasonry is at the very heart of our government. Just take a look at your dollar bill. What images are on it? One Catholic signed, so what? We don’t even know if he was a good Catholic or not. Many Catholics were also freemasons even if they weren’t supposed to be. Basically, the country was founded by greedy slave owning land robbers who distorted natural law and natural rights in order to seize power for themselves.
1-What if a person (ie, meaning a political leader/ruler, or especially, a dictator or a tyrant) comes to power through upsurping the sovereign and legal government, and comes to a position/place of political and governmental power through unjust and illegal means???
2-what if they don’t allow you to leave their country and they R very opressive??? Suppose their laws/authority does not make/force its citizens, to disobey god’s laws, but at the same time, it’s is very opressive with very little freedoms (like freedoms of speech and a bunch of other stuff), and they want to leave to immigrate to a better place, but their government forbids leaving???
3-A closing note. The american revolution cost not only the precious lives, but the eternal destinies and salvation of heaven and hell s****, of those soldiers on both sides, because had they lived and had they never been killed during/in a war, those unsaved soldiers and military personnel that died could have lived and gone on to become saved christians
OK, send people of to hell for taxation complaints, that is just plain evil and unjust from a christian POV and a christian perspective. who cares if the american revolution was a just war or an unjust war; it cost people’s salvations, that’s is very evil and unchristian
democracy is not always the best solution, no offense intended here
