Was the Last Supper on Wednesday late night?

I have heard from priests and theologians that the Last Supper was actually celebrated on the night of the 4th day, that is, today’s Wednesday, as the Jews calculated a day from sunset to sunset. For them the Paschal Feast began after the sunset of the 4th day and ended by the sunset of the 5th day. That is why some of the Apostolic Churches celebrate the Maundy Thursday Holy Mass on the night of Wednesday or early morning of Thursday. Is it true? I would appreciate your clarifications. They say this explains Jesus’ Resurrection on the third day, instead of the presumable second day.
