Was the miracle of the loaves and fishes really a miracle?

I am interested where this new perspective on the miracle of the loaves and fishes originated. I heard it from someone then heard it again in the movie Millions. The miracle was not that Our Lord multiplided the food to feed the people, but that people shared the food that they brought with them. Sounds like another attempt to bamboozle. Thank you for any insight.
