During last Sunday’s homily, on the feast of Corpus Christi, the priest taught the congregation that Jesus’ feeding of the thousands was really a miracle of “sharing” on the part of the thousands gathered. The priest placed emphasis on the community’s effort for “social justice” in the giving of what they had brought to their fellow brothers in need. I was alarmed when I heard this. But this is not the first time I have heard this passage interpreted like this. Could you please tell me what the proper interpretation of this passage is?
