Hello,
I have been trying to do some research on the Order of nuns that appear in the film “The Sound of Music” from 1965. I want to audition for the position of one of the nuns in the upcoming play that our local theatre group will be putting on the end of this summer, but was not sure of the actual Order portrayed in the story. I was told by a fellow Catholic that it was the Sisters of Mercy order, but I want to be sure, as I feel that this is very important…not only to myself, but for the general knowledge of the other folks participating on stage as well. I just feel that a part can be best portrayed when those involved have an accurate history and knowledge of the part they will be playing. It happens to be even more important to in this case, as I am a practising Catholic, and a great deal of the folks already cast, and to be cast are not Catholic!
This is my first post on this forum, or actually any of the forums here, and am hoping that someone can help me out.

I found this forum quite by accident when discussing both my faith, and the upcoming part that I will be auditioning for, with an old friend, who is actually considering very strongly, converting to the Catholic Faith!! And I am just SO EXCITED about this news, that I am about to burst!! We have been friends for years. Anyway…
