Oh - he never gave any thought to any answer of anyone here, and it’s surprising, why he’s allowed to make this thread his forum. :mad:
To attempt to disprove that the Virgin was wise if you don’t believe she existed or wasn’t a virgin is rather a futile enterprise! Unless of course you believe in the folly of virginity for every woman without exception - which is a formidably difficult view to maintain… 😉

Now that you’ve brought it up tonyrey , that was another inference I drew earlier and was wondering whether to mention. Since we’re looking at it now : When that particular poster repeatedly asserts that Our Blessed Mother is inhuman because of her virginity , that same person is saying by extension, that all women religious who are faithful to their vows,(chastity) are also inhuman.

Among these inhumans :dts:], we would have to include Blessed Mother Theresa of Calcutta and the Missionaries of Charity …🤷 These dear sisters of ours are currently more in touch with both their and our humanity, than we may ever end up being in our entire lifetime.

The Homily of St. Gregory the Wonder-worker:
The Holy Virgin is herself both an honourable temple of God and a shrine made pure, and a golden altar of whole burnt offerings. By reason of her surpassing purity [she is] the Divine incense of oblation ( = προθέσεως), and oil of the holy grace, and a precious vase bearing in itself the true nard; [yea and] the priestly diadem revealing the good pleasure of God, whom she alone approacheth holy in body and soul. [She is] the door which looks eastward, and by the comings in and goings forth the whole earth is illuminated. The fertile olive from which the Holy Spirit took the fleshly slip (or twig) of the Lord, and saved the suffering race of men. She is the boast of virgins, and the joy of mothers; the declaration of archangels, even as it was spoken: “Be thou glad and rejoice, the Lord with thee”; and again, “from thee”; in order that He may make new once more the dead through sin .

I agree with you that Angry has not addressed any of the apologia we have provided. But I am not certain why you feel his being “allowed to make this thread his forum” is wrong.

Each CAF member is allowed to post his opinion, and as long as it’s charitable and essentially not moronic or unintelligible, anyone can post their thoughts. That’s what a forum is. Even atheists are allowed to post here. And I applaud and affirm his right to “make this thread his forum.”

That is the understandable view of many people in our secular society who are brainwashed into thinking that sexual activity is absolutely essential if one is to be sane, content and fulfilled rather than mentally unbalanced, maladjusted, miserable and frustrated!

Hi, PRmerger,

I think one out of two should qualify… and I vote for moronic…but only beating out ‘unintelligible’ by a nose!! 😃

Just kidding

God bless

Yes, I may be speaking out of ignorance here, as it’s not possible for me to know the true statistic, but I am going to go out on a limb and proclaim this:

[SIGN1]Not a single person in the world has ever died of NOT HAVING SEX. Ever.[/SIGN1]

For anyone interested in reading that entire Homily of St. Gregory the Wonder-worker, concerning the Holy Mother of God, ever-virgin , the link is HERE .

Was the Virgin Mary wise ?

St. Gregory the Wonder-worker answers (highlights mine) :
The Homily of St. Gregory the Wonder-worker:
Thou didst allow her to remain a virgin, and wast pleased, O Lord, to lie in the Virgin’s womb, sending in advance the archangel to announce it [to her]. But he from above, from the ineffable hosts, came unto Mary, and first heralded to her the tidings: “Be thou glad and rejoice.” And he also added, “The Lord with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.” But she was in tumult, and pondered in her mind what sort of tidings was this. But then in seemly fashion, I ween, the grace chose out the Holy Virgin; for she was wise in all ways, nor was there her like among women of all nations.

So true … and doesn’t the general media do such an admirable (ahem) job in augmenting the brainwashing process …?.. We are truly blessed to have CAF, where the truth doesn’t have to become a casualty.

And we readily admit that crazy and normal are mere relative terms when there is no objective reference point - no absolute truth.

MARY THE DAWN

Mary the dawn, Christ the Perfect Day;
Mary the gate, Christ the Heavenly Way!

Mary the root, Christ the Mystic Vine;
Mary the grape, Christ the Sacred Wine!

Mary the wheat, Christ the Living Bread;
Mary the stem, Christ the Rose blood-red!

Mary the beacon, Christ the Haven’s Rest;
Mary the mirror, Christ the Vision Blest!

Mary the mother, Christ the Mother’s Son
By all things blest while endless ages run.

Amen.
:gopray:
:angel1:
Her blessing is for all, but her protection and wisdom are to we God children, for she is a mother, and we are poorest banished children of Eve.

Yeah, I know. Without breaking the rules, the poster you quoted is always going around other forums trolling and ticking people off. I say we should ignore him and tell Mary that depsite what other jerkasses call Her, we will not decrease our devotion to Her and that we still have faith in Her and Her mercy.🙂 Long live Mary Immaculate, the Mother of God and Mirror of Justice!
Yes I know.
How dare I follow the rules yet say things that make other people angry or uncomfortable. Obviously I’m pure evil:rolleyes:

Not really.
Intellectually its not that different from judging the morality of Frodo (from Lord of the Rings) or considering the merits of the Death Star (from Star Wars). Or for that matter doing a character study on one of the fictional people in War and Peace.

No, I was saying that the Virgin Mary was inhuman (or at least not human) because she was perfect (according to the Catholic definition) and therefore did not have the whole range of normal/sinful human thoughts and emotions.

The difference is that your remarks infringe the forum conduct rule of respect…

The personal insults make little difference to me:shrug:

I have grown rather thick-skinned over the last decade.

So what?
What does that have to do with anything I said?

You reveal a misconception of the Immaculate Conception! 🙂

there is nothing new under the thread.

I’m not sure why you think it would have anything to do with what you said, Angry.

If you follow the trail of posts you’ll notice that not a single post of yours enters this dialogue:

Sometimes it’s not about you at all. 🤷

However, do you have an argument with the fact that someone can be fully human and not have sex, ever?
